This old thread got revisited. @dani_m08 to answer the question about extra probe, I believe I ordered an extra one when I bought the set up. The probe wire is just setting in the junction box I think but honestly I cant remember. When I laid out the underfloor heating and the probe, I just ran another probe near the first probe, and it was then sealed into the floor self leveling compound as per instructions. then the end was just threaded into the wall like the one that would be live, and not connected, but just laying there in the box. Regarding the tile layout. I just decided to run it this way, after getting instructions on the 90Degree way, IIRC. The herringbone that I love is from my childhood and the side walks in my neighborhood that all ran at 45Degree. so that to me is herringbone. I know you posted on @sochi thread about her amazing bathroom and a wall mounted faucet. I would totally do it if I had the right sink for it. In my case I had made my sink out of soapstone and an integrated backsplash. The pictures of this bathroom reveal are no longer available because of the use of photo bucket, when it was Gardenweb. I did not keep my account with photo bucket. I'll add some of the reveal pictures so you can see the sink and floor. Regarding the sink there is no ledge for water to drip from my hands when using the faucet. The water drips right into the sink. In my other bathroom with a deck mounted faucet I am always wiping up drips and it is a nuisance. I much prefer the setup for this sink. Below: Here I am finishing up the sink. the backsplash was epoxied on as a separate piece. The whole soapstone install in the room took next to nothing to buy as they were all small pieces that I epoxied together with a 3 part stone epoxy. Below: this is the counter at the tub, and is in 2 long pieces but I was able to epoxy them together at there edges to make a wide slab for the top. All the soapstone was finished with a 60 grit sandpaper to be rough and this lovely soft tone of blue/green/gray/white. I did not oil it so this color tone would remain light. Below: If I recall correctly @sochi helped me decide on this Hubberton Forge Mirror. I have 3 different metals in this room, but they are all a cool silver to black color. Below: the center of this tower shares space with the kitchen on the other side of the wall. there is also some extra space that houses some electrical wiring. this is an old simple house. this bathroom was an add on when it got move to the farm in the 30s IIRC. The plumbing was all rearrange and some of the details that were orignially there I kept but updated it, such as this tower feature. The old one went and the carpenter did a wonderful job with this one. Below: This feature was another thing I kept from the old bathroom but flipped it from the other end and had the carpenter put drawers in it. Before it was a hell hole. things got lost and the build was soooo old and creapy I didn't like using it for storage. Now it is perfect for storage.

mary_lu: I've been pretty fortunate with our CL and have bought and sold many items for our home there. Sometimes I do have to search for awhile as I did for the mahogany nightstands. I think I looked for over a month before I found a set in the size I needed; so when this time I saw the cream ones, I was very lucky since it was just the size I needed which is hard to find. I did need to drive 40 miles to pick them up though. dawnp: Yes, I was following that thread as well for the list of blues. There are some lovely shades there to consider, though some more saturated that what I'm envisioning. I probably should start with a new comforter/bedspread, though, before finalizing. justgottabeme: Thanks! Yes, I was pretty lucky to find what I wanted so quickly. Now the extra furniture is just sitting around, though, until I can work them in. DD likes the new nightstands--which I was worried about since she really liked the original ones as well and I wasn't sure she'd be willing to let big brother have them in his room and I wasn't too confident I'd be able to find another set, and if I did, if seller would sell just the nightstands since they are often sold as part of a bedroom set. My kids seem to be gaining an appreciation for older things, too, which is nice. juliekcmo: Good point about the desk. I'll keep that in mind for when I get to the point of phasing it out to look for a kneehole one. About the drapes, DS already has 2" wood blinds there so I was envisioning the dropcloth curtains more as stationary panels. DS has no problems sleeping, night or day; if room were totally dark in daytime though, he might never wake up!

Tibbrix, I totally agree about the slate. He can put that in his rustic/reclaimed bath he's building in the loft above his barn/shop. If we do a (reclaimed) wood it will just be on the wall the vanity is on. And thanks for the tip on researching how to protect the walls from moisture. I'll look for a picture. I had one I took for the cabinet maker but unless I've over looked it, I've already trashed it. There isn't a lot of wall space as this 5x8 bathroom as it has two doors...one opens to a bedroom and the other opens to a small hall. Holly Kay, I like mixing it up a little and putting something unexpected in a room. Our "Cowboy Chic" Monster (because of the size) den is a deep spiced pumpkin color with antelope carpet, cow hides, deer and bobcat mounts, lots of wood and stone but I try to level out the manly-ness of it all with some elegant touches :) In fact, I have a bowl from the same company that makes the sink (in both of our bathrooms) that sits on a formal-ish rustic stand in the den. This company also makes glass tile to match their sinks. I'd love to do some accents on the tub surround with it but DH has nixed that idea :( Here is a picture of the bowl/stand in the den. It was going to be super tight to put the faucet behind the sink due to the size of the sink and the thickness of the backsplash. In fact, it might not have worked at all! I didn't realize that the drain plunger thingy was so angled. outsideplaying, I wanted to use some matching glass tiles in on the tub surround but (as of right now) my husband isn't wanting any glass tile on the surround. (Cceana) copper and black glass tiles were the exact colors I had in mind as accent tiles. BTW, this is a tub/shower combo. There is no shower floor. Masculine framed mirror is already in the works :) Caramel...ohh that sounds nice. I deep caramel color. I'll have to look into that! Thank you! Thank you, remodelfla, for the soapstone comments and pictures. I don't think that the imperfections and scratches would bother me too much, but we know we will probably have to sell our house in 7-8 years, so I need to keep resale in mind. I love the look of it so much, but I need to decide if we can keep it looking good enough over the long haul. I do wish there were an alternative that had a similar look and feel, but that was harder. Granite just doesn't have the same look, and when a black granite is honed, as some friends of mine have in their kitchen, it shows every little fingerprint and oil spot. I recently heard that Caesar Stone is introducing a lot of new colors that are supposed to look more like natural stones, but I have a hard time believing that there will be any that really look like soapstone or marble.
