White cabinets - Santa Cecelia (light) or Kashmir White

I have read these forums and keep reading great reviews on Santa Cecelia (light). My husband likes Kashmir White. I think Santa Cecelia has more grey/black tones and Kashmir White has more of a white base. I'm leaning towards going with more of a grey, but my husband wants to ensure we keep our kitchen with a light feel. Does Santa Cecelia have a warm, light feel? Will Kashmir White make my kitchen feel too cold? Your thoughts? Other ideas on granite colors?

I was looking at Owen Gold for a few weeks, but think it will clash with the appliances and probably has too much sparkle. I would also need to change my cabinet color to cream. But, my husband thinks this could have a warmer feel.

I have hardwood floors and all stainless steel appliances. Thank you for any thoughts. I need to make a decision fast!

Kashmir White is one of my very favorites, so I'm biased. You say you are interested in gray and most I've seen has plenty of gray, and often a little golden tan and maybe some creaminess for warmth. In addition, the burgundy colored inclusions give you the opportunity to add warmth to your room by picking up that color in backsplash or accessories. To me, Santa Cecilia is too 'everywhere' (truly no offense intended to those who have and love it), but I prefer something a little less often seen.

Did you decide about your granite? I'm looking at Kashmir White for my bathroom vanity. I have existing carrara(sp?) marble tiles in my tub area. These are across the room from each other. Any ideas how they would look together?

Can you put wood into your kitchen, or does it have to be tile? As for the honed granite. I had it in my pre-renovation kitchen and it was no where near as difficult as some say. I have four little ones and found it no harder to keep clean than other surfaces. It did not hide dirt, but a quick spritz and wipe would clean all my mess. So don't rule out black if you love it. That said, I am going with a light granite in my new kitchen and looked at Kashmire White (I chose Bianco Romano) and think it looks lovely. I am going with a wood floor in my kitchen, but if I wasn't I would definitely go with a darker tile, set in a quiet pattern, on the floor. Let the white cabs and counters take the eye and attention. This is such a timely follow-up to my original post! I must decide my countertop choice in the next couple of days and I think I am more confused than ever, LOL! I still really like the santa cecelia. I also *really* LOVE soapstone, but don't think that will be in my budget. Only way to do that will be soapstone on my 8'x4' island and laminate on the perimeter countertops. I plan on either going with a lighter granite (maybe Ocean Fantasy or Santa Celelia), or a dark honed granite. Sigh. I am sooooo worn out from the decision making, waaaaa! Sorry, I am not much help! I am still going with white cabinets (alabaster white by SW).

Serawyn, here is one of your photos and one from my kitchen, I love my kashmir white ,have it in my kitchen counters as on 3 bathroom floors ,big foyer and kitchen/family room combo floors , love it and would do it in a heartbeat again. I agree with Caayu , sealer is very important, have had mine for 2 years and we had the fabricator seal the counters with their sealer and have had no staining what so ever. But I have heard if you get a stain you just have to be patent cause all staining will fade after a wile . hope this helps Svava
