is this equip tax credit eligible on ahri website?

i have tried many many times searching to see if equipment is eligible for federal tax credits on ahri website at:

http://www.ahridirectory.org/ahridirectory/pages/home.aspx

i only got 1 hit for 1 piece of equipment. for the rest of the equipment either singularly or in combination i got messages "no results matched your criteria."

i would be really appreciative if someone who knows how to search the website, could let me know if the following equipment singularly or in combination are eligible for federal tax credits, & attach a link to webpage results, or cut & paste website results. thanks!

I had the dealers provide this cert. info. Looking it up can be a real pain , that is their job if they want the job. I had my Trane dealer give me the cert. for the tax credit before he started the install.

You can rule out the first one, not a variable speed blower. You won't get 16/13 with the standard blower.

Also, the rules on 3rd party coils like Aspen are changing next week. So even if the Aspen qualifies, the ratings will be gone by I think the 16th. The AHRI is tightening up on high ratings by the coil makers. Right now there are matches with Aspen but they will probably disappear soon.

I also see no matches with the XV80 and 15i. Only with the single stage 80 and the high efficiency fan motor.

Do you have a flexible saving account for dependant care? Child & Dependent Care Credit - Limit with ER Benefits Although there are expenses in excess of the $5,000 of dependent care benefits, there is no credit when the dependent care benefit exceeds $3,000. The reason for this is that the maximum allowable expenses that can be used for the credit is $3,000. You have actually received a tax benefit for a total of $5,000 in expenses by using the dependent care benefit. Therefore, there is no expense that remains allowable for the credit. The amount of the dependent care benefit disqualifies you from the child tax credit. Lines 28 - 32 of the Form 2441 will show this. If you have, for example, a dependent care benefit amount of $2,000 with the $7,169 of expenses, only $1,000 would be allowed for the calculation of the credit. The IRS does not allow the maximum dependent care benefit of $5,000 plus an addition of the maximum credit amount of $3,000 for the child. The dollars used for the benefit and the credit are overlapping. Generally speaking, depending on the level of your income, the $5,000 in dependent care benefit is a better deal for an individual than the credit.

ARI ~ Is this a good setup for tax credit?

ok, back on the American Standard setup, grasping at straws to not have to peddle my brand spanking new A/S comfort-R var. speed furnace. if i take the furnace out of the equation and check ARI certification, i was able to find the following: 4A6H5036A1 3 Ton A/S Heritage 15 HP ARI 1384032 - Heritage 15 4A6H5036A1 w/ 4TEE3F40B1 coil provides 15/12.7/9.0 w/ no air handler or furnace listed. ARI 1384026 - Heritage 15 4A6H5036A1 w/ 4TEE3D40A1 coil provides 15/12.6/9.0 w/ no air handler or furnace listed. question, i am not seeing either of the 3.5 ton coil numbers on the A/S site. the only way the 3 ton Heritage 15 HP can achieve the minimum ratings would be to go with the 3.5 coil. is this a good solution to my dilemma and are the coil numbers above readily available?

Tigerdunes - Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, consulting with my local Carrier dealers is not helpful. I KNOW MORE ABOUT THE TAX CREDIT THAN THEY DO! I have to keep correcting them when they tell me System X will qualify, when in fact it doesn't. The only local dealers that give me the correct info are Bryant dealers, but unfortunately, the Bryant in combo with the Carrier furnace is not rated. I was hoping to take advantage of the tax credit, since we will need a new A/C in the near future, but is upgrading to the Infinity 21 worth it just for that, or should I stick with the Performance 17, and not worry about the tax credit? I believe in my previous post, you didn't like the 3rd party coil option. Thanks again for your advice

I'm just talking about the final letter in the air handler model number. There are different reference numbers in the database depending on whether you have the ASPF426016A or ASPF426016B. I'm assuming your installer installed the thermostatic expansion valve (TXV), which is required to get the efficiency ratings. You'll have to ask your installer about that. It's your installer's job to provide you with all necessary information to file the tax credit (including the AHRI database reference number). Your system qualifies.
