Okay -based upon the responses on the exchange area of the forum it sounds like the swap is going well. The participants are enjoying the gifts they are receiving.

Therefore this thread can't be that URGENT anymore so I am giving it the bump.

Teresa

There's a lot of June left. I am putting this at the top....perhaps Ann needs to post another.
It's been an unwritten rule here that the one who posts something that needs to stay at the top for a while should be the one to bump it down when the matter is over.

Maybe someone should have put this rule in writing and sent the memo to Teresa?

Since teresa isn't a swap participant she has no understanding of the fact that over the swap period some people end up going away unexpectedly and need to let me know so I can inform their partners. Regular participants know this, but first timers don't. In fact, I've had three emails this week, to let me know absent dates.

Since not all participants read the forum every day, I wanted to keep this thread near the top of the page.

Not a problem though. I'm sure that teresa's intentions were good even if misguided.

I'll just keep bumping it up until I decide it isn't necessary any more.

Ann

I am sorry Ann - I did not mean any harm. Thank you for your gracious reply. And no - I'm not misguided. I'm totally brain dead from 4 days of helping with tornado clean up. Clearly I was not thinking when I typed the response that bumped your thread down. Please accept my sincerest apologies.

lindac - please forward any other member imposed unwritten or unspoken rules my way.

Four days of looking at flattened homes. There is nothing that even comes close to putting things into perspective. Not for me anyway.

I hope everyone is delighted with what they get in the swap. And I pray none of you ever have your homes ripped out from under you by a tornado.

Best,
Teresa

TTT! (To The Top)

So far only one box has been received....
Looking forward to hearing about all the goodies!
Spending some of today preparing food for a fundraiser which will pay for gas to send 22 volunteers to a disaster site to help with the clean up. There are many ways of helping clean up after a disaster.
Right now in southern Iowa families are evacuating because the Missouri river is rising.....Floods wipe out homes as well as tornadoes do.

Teresa, That you have both the time and the energy, even on crutches, to help those in need is truly wonderful.

You are in very good company. I know of many here on this forum that quietly give of their time and resources to help the less fortunate and those that have suffered life changing catastrophes.

Some of these wonderful generous people are participating in this swap.

Ann

While we all give as we can, NONE of us can comprehend the emotional and psychological impact of cleaning up the actual detritus from a natural disaster and it definitely puts priorities in perspective.

Having been the victim of a flood and receiving an outpouring of love and help from total strangers, I think I get a little of where Teresa is coming from.

Believe me, she is not looking for kudos. She is coming here to decompress and I understand how her mind is in a million pieces.

Teresa huge (((((HUGS)))) from me to you and feel free to pass them on to anyone who needs one. (Sorry I am crying now so I am sorry if I am not expressing myself well) THANK YOU

Loves2cook....yes....some of us can.
We are all grateful for those who do what they can to ease the pain of others caught in disasters of any making....
But this thread is...or was about swap participants notifying Ann if they were not going to be able to receive their swap gift when sent.

As Riverrat would say TTT!

I think we can let this drop now. I think everyone that needs to contact me, has done so.

I really do want to thank those that bumped this thread up. I especially want to thank Linda, Teresa and Jasdip who aren't even participating. Very thoughtful of you.

Ann

Again Ann - apologies for bumping this down in the first place! I hope everyone enjoys their swap gifts.

Teresa

You're welcome Ann.

I just read the thread today, as I wasn't participating. Since I don't even know when the Swap is, or if it's started, I thought it had better be brought back up.

Enjoy your goodies everyone!
