I haven't even paid attention to them. Good thing, since I don't have time to add more to my list as today, I started an art journal since I've felt the itch to draw for some time now and have been ignoring it. though I only drew a simple hash sketch of an apple, it made me SO happy!
I do think it's neat that you're trying new things though forboystoo! Good for you!

I come from the garden side, and I've spent much more time in the Home forums this year than ever before! (I always did love house plans....) Now I have a ton of links saved in case I ever decide to update my kitchen and bathrooms.

I've also identified weeds in the Lawn forum (and a few other places I rarely if ever visited).

And somehow I keep ending up on the Pepper forum (hate peppers!).

Some topics good for a read, but no action. I'll browse the forum topics page and check discussions.

I did find myself in the real estate forum on a discussion on selling a house when someone died in it...

Yes I drift off to other forums. Isn't that what happens online in general? You start out googling one thing and something else pops up and before you know it you have forgotten why you went online in the first place. This can be a good or bad thing.

Yes. One I clicked on was titled "Isn't this the cutest thing?" or something like that. It was a rabbit curled up sleeping in her birdbath. It was the cutest thing!!

I also came from the gardening forums. It's amusing to click on recent posts - you never know what you'll get. I notice GW wisely never lists any posts from the Hot Topics forum.

Edited to add that boiling water really does kill weeds! Works wonders on my flagstone paths.

I love that feature. I've learned a few things, have been entertained, and maybe even helped 2 or 3 people.

I noticed it when new, but no longer. It's just visual clutter for me, thank god, for heaven forfend I should start wasting any more time on another forum!

I look at it all the time and go to things that interest me. Poor insular forums are probably inundated with newbies.

The funny thing is, before they added that feature, I thought "Gardenweb" was a misnomer because all of the action is over in Decor/Bldg/Kitchens. Whenever I went to other forums, it seemed there was a lot of tumblewed. But if you look at the Recent Posts, it is, in fact, a Gardening Forum.

And yes, I too, have wondered off more than I used to.

PS Where is the bunny in the birdbath? The kids would like that

I think that the "Most Recent Posts" section is one of the very best features that has been incorporated into the forums. I always scan it to see what interests me and have wandered to forums that I have never visited before. I never cared much for hostas either but since I have found out what cool varieties are available and what enthusiasm those hosta forum regulars have, I have bought five new hostas for a new bed. Thanks, Garden Web people.

mtn, I have been googling it and searched here, but I can't find it and I don't remember what forum it was on. It seems like the title was "how cute is this?" or "cutest thing ever". :(

In case anyone was wondering how it got up there, it was a bowl bird bath on the ground, not the usual kind up on a post or column!

This thread makes me happy! I think the Most Recent Post widget is pretty addictive myself. In fact, that's how I saw this thread. ;)

I have to admit that I was curious about the bunny, too, and had to see if I could find it. Here it is -- SO sweet.

When I was looking for the bunny, I also found a kitty in a bird bath and had to laugh.

Same for me. I never even heard of hostas before these "most recent posts" started catching my eye. Have to say, I have learned a lot and while I have not made any actual purchases yet, I have picked out my first rose and am planning a perennial garden. I really enjoy the most recent posts feature and find myself refreshing to see what new threads come up.

I like them. I've followed a few and found myself posting as if I were a frequent participant. Then, oops, I realize they have never "seen" me before. I've got plenty of hosta and I also seem to be attracted to the hydrangea threads.

I told you about those hosta people, didn't I?

It's a great feature and it's helped me discover some really interesting forums. The posters at the Conifer forum are exceedingly helpful and knowledgeable - they helped me select a Deodara Cedar that had just the right growth potential for a specific spot in my side yard.

I do like the feature, I learn/find all kinds of things, from grandparents dealing with spoiled grandchildren to how to clean up cat barf.

Well, I just had to check out today's "I bought baby toes...is it sick?"

YES THAT IS SIC ... oh, wait, thank goodness it wasn't the "cannibalism recovery support" forum. It's "cacti and succulents".

I actually drifted over here from the hosta forum, through the "new posts" feature. I am glad some of you have discovered or rediscovered my, and so many others' favorite plant. They are the centerpieces of my garden, which is all shade. I have about 80 different varieties, which is a lot less than some collectors out there. There are always new "hot" ones to add each year, but sadly I'm out of room. I'm obsessed with them from early Spring to about mid July, then the slugs take over and have their evil way and I move on to other things. The great thing about hostas is that they come back bigger and better every year, so it's always something to look forward to.

They even look good in black and white!

That thing is not a rabbit, I think it's a baby boar. The shape of the head and the ears--- and the snout--- not at all bunny like. Here is a photo of a baby boar:
