Resize Your Pictures - Easy!

I know a lot of you have been struggling with resizing pictures. I just found this site and it is super easy!

lydia, if your running Xp you can right click an image and in pop up box choose to resize. That's even easier yet.

Patches, I do run XP but I don't see that I can do that. I don't get anything that says resize when I right click. How does it work?

I usually just resize in Print shop (I just choose postcard for most), but today I was trying to make a picture really small for an avatar and couldn't do that in Print Shop. It was easy at the site I posted.

Do you have "paint" on your computer? Some computers come with it or something similar. Click on "start" or programs to see if you have it. Once in paint or a similar freebie program I click on "file", "open" then look for my picture. I click on the picture and it opens in paint. I then click on "resize" and then "pixels". I usually change my pixels to around 1000 or 500. See what your picture pixel is and put in a smaller number.

I don't reduce anything. I upload to Mediafire and they offer three different sizes for viewing. Large is the original size. Small is significantly larger than a thumbnail. Medium is in between (duh!). I have been linking to the medium sized image. I hope it works okay for y'all. My normal monitor is huge but I try to keep my windows down to normal sizes so I don't make mistakes like that. Again, I can't be sure though.

Photobucket will do it. On the upload page there is an OPTIONS that if you click on it gives you several different sizes. avatar ( 100 x 75 ) thumbnail ( 160 x 120 ) website, email ( 320 x 240 ) message board ( 640 x 480 ) 15" screen ( 800 x 600 ) 17" screen ( 1024 x 768 ) 1 megabyte file size

there is an awesome forum over at BBR where their amazingly talented members who are offering to do these kinds of things for you for absolutely free, I have had them help me out several times. lydia - I think some versions of Windows XP come with that option. Perhaps Media Center?

Mine did not have it, but I downloaded it from Microsoft. It is a safe and quick download - It is a Windows PowerToy. Once you have it installed - you can right click on an image and you will have the option to resize it. It will rename it (adding a "small" at the end of it) so you don't ruin your original image.

There are some other fun "toys" on the link. Scroll down towards the bottom. The Resizer link will be at the right.
