A birthday and on a holiday weekend? Live it up and have a great birthday, tell us all about it! Wishing you many more happy, healthy & delicious celebrations! E
Thanks. So far I have celebrated my birthday by having breakfast, reading the Sunday paper, doing the puzzles and two loads of laundry. In other words, pretty much what I do every Sunday! I hope to get out for a walk before it gets too hot.
I'm sure I will be hearing from friends (like you!) and family throughout the day. I'll have dinner at mom's along with #2 son, like I do almost every Sunday. Dessert will be a birthday cake.
Having a birthday on a holiday weekend is a bit of a nuisance since most people are busy with other things, including me. Next year it will be the day after Memorial Day, which is better.
So, I'm glad to be alive and kicking! I'll check in again later.
Sounds like you have a great day planned, and it sounds like the weather will be nice - it's going to remain rather cool here, and I could handle a bit more warmth.
Today was a nice day. I had so many birthday phone calls, it started to drive me crazy. I'd be talking to one person and the "call waiting" beep would be going.
Mom (age 93) baked the biggest birthday cake I ever saw. It was enough to feed 20 people and there were only three of us. I got cards, some plants, a new garden trowel and a beautiful bouquet of flowers from a friend. Nice!
Tomorrow I am marching in the local Memorial Day parade. I'm helping to carry the library banner. The only problem is the little kids on bikes who keep running into the back of my ankles.
Okay, putting this birthday to bed for another year. Again, thanks for your many wishes.
By the way, the cake in Lars post looks a lot more like mine than the one in Nancy's. If I put in a candle for every year it would set off the smoke detectors.
The only problem is the little kids on bikes who keep running into the back of my ankles. LOL, that sounds like our summer reading kids in the Timber Day parade. We make the teens carry the banner.
LOL Pam. I'm glad you had a good day, even with being interrupted by more well wishers. I'm chuckling at your Mothers cake. You certainly won't forget the biggest cake she ever made you. How wonderful that you have her and her being able to bake it. Happy Birthday.
Thanks for the additional wishes! The parade was a riot, as always. More people in it than watching it. This year we were behind the kids on bikes but in front of a giant Percheron horse. Guess it's better to be in front of a horse! He kept whinnying and I thought for sure we would be trampled. Actually, he did pretty well and so did we.
Happy Be-lated Birthday, Pam! Sounds like you had a great weekend. I've been out of town and just got in a little while ago. I do know what you mean about the little kids hitting your ankles with their bikes.
Have a great year! Teresa
p.s. at least for now, I'm younger than you! na, na, naaaaa!
I'm chiming in here very late, Pam, or very, very early for next year! I was gone Sunday, and missed seeing this until now. Well, I'm glad you had a nice birthday. I'm impressed with your Mom. So, a very belated happy Birthday, Pam.
