Ipad/iPod apps you enjoy

Would love to hear what apps people have on their machines that they love.

Have you tried Talking Tom 2, Talking Ben and Talking Tom and Ben News? They are really cute little apps that are free. You can buy add ons but you really don't have to.

Done Drinkin is another entertainment game that is really fun. It used to be free and it still may be free but you can also upgrade it if you wish.

Love the game Fishdom. It costs about 5 dollars if I remember correctly but it is well worth it. My sister is up over 800 levels last she told me. You can play a number of levels free and then decide if you like it enough to upgrade. There is Halloween, Christmas and Harvest editions of this game.

Coin pirates is a free one, that I also like. You get 50 coins to start, and once they are used up, if you wait awhile, your coins will build up again. I have been playing it for well over a year and never bothered buying more coins. Now I have built up a collection of coins and will never run out.

Of course there is Angry Birds, another favourite of mine. Paper Toss is also fun. I could go on and on but what are some you enjoy?

We play "words with friends! Hanging with friends, both word games. I really enjoy Google Earth, and of course, all the forums I visit. Oh, I love Solitaire too

mine are android apps but there are some that are on both platforms, I have many solitaire games but really like Aces Solitaire, I also have many different mahjong games the one I like best is Random Mahjong. I also have angry birds, word drop, crossword lite, quell, droplets, several jewels games, a miner game where he goes mining for gold, I have several more but am just going blank. Oh I have one of the assistant apps that you can talk to and it answers your questions don't use it much just wanted to see if it worked.

Tended App is another option that works on tablets, phones, and desktop computers since it's web-based: https://www.tendedapp.com/ It lets you visually design a garden (including across different seasons, so you could keep track for crop rotation purposes), track your inputs and outputs, and see reports about your growing. There's also basic task management on a calendar view, the ability to upload photos, and it lets you see other gardeners' layouts as well. Check it out!

Kudzu9, I think I will have my answer tomorrow morning when I check my ISP useage log but I am now fairly confident my issue is inhouse. Snidely, yes this kid needs the bar raised, and perhaps my daughter too. We are not often fortunate enough to enjoy fireside chats only carefully chosen words. Ravencajun, wow you got me all excited there for a minute or three ha ha. Never knew about router logs till now and a Worldstart tutorial lead me along. That was when I realised I had disassociated the WiFi early today, saved and by doing so wiped the old logs. Only today's activity is visible. But I will keep that neat tid bit for future reference for sure. Thank you. The Dlink router does not seem to offer the amount of information suggested by the Worldstart tutorial though. Cheaper router, less bells and whistles I suppose.

$500 is definitely NOT a good price on the mini. QVC's prices on all Apple products are always bad, and always seem to be sold in a bundle so you might not realize how much extra you're truly paying. You can do better ANYWHERE else. The price of that mini is around $300 and you can buy it online from Apple dot com and have it in a week. A good case is in the $25-50 range, many decent ones even less. The device comes with earplugs and charger included. Most discount stores sell Apple products at the exact same price since Apple does not allow discounts, but sometimes you can get like a $25-50 Gift Card thrown in at Target, Best Buy or WalMart. Another option is to buy a refurbished one....FROM APPLE only...and they carry the same warranty as a new one. I've bought MANY,MANY Apple devices from their refurbished line. Though I've never had a problem, I would still only buy refurbished directly from Apple; nowhere else.

You're welcome tina :) I really didn't load up my iPad either, I have much more on my iPhone, not for any particular reason I can think of though. A couple more iPad apps I like: GoSkyWatch It's a planetarium app for anyone who likes astronomy. Point it to the night sky and the app will identify what's up there :) There is a free and paid version. If you buy, it's still much less $ than other astronomy apps. And Civil War Today (a History Channel app). Pricey as apps go but back when I purchased it was half off (and is 50% off right now, too) Packed with interesting information for any CW buffs. It follows the war in daily format from its early rumblings, unfolding it to the app user much like someone who lived during that period would be exposed to developments. In addition to headlines are photo of the day, number of casualties to date for each side, a day in the life (both men & women, letters written), what the world was like at the time and battle maps.

Fishdom is great for killing time. I love Scrabble, Words with Friends and Scramble with Friends. Mostly, though, I use the Kindle app to read books.

I had hoped to get some great ideas here as I got an iPad for Christmas, but...

anything other than games?

I do have Drop Box, Ever Note, Your Version (Bible) and a several others, but I am looking for more!

I like Photon because it allows me to get Flash content on my iPad. Also like many of the games mentioned, plus Where's my Water, Skype, Textfree, and Overdrive.

Lu Ann take a look at a program called Bookcreator. I'm creating books that can be read in ibooks. I'm making mostly photo albums and have a little trouble resizing the photos right now, but I'm sure I will figure it out. I just got it late last night so I really haven't played with it much yet. I have a number of non-game apps on my ipad.

Yellow Pages is another good one I have for Canada. Great phone look-up complete with phone numbers, postal codes and maps. I bet there is an equivilant for the States.

I have several ereader Apps, fbreader is the newest and I like it alot, astro file manager, fx file manager, android assistant, android system info, droid youtube downloader, mp3 music download, imageshrink, my data manager, sense analog clock, smart office, speed test, wattpad, and I too love Where's my water game. I download some to try and end up deleting some, there are some that do not fit a tablet, made for phones, screen size is off.

My small grandkids love Baby Rattle on my iPod. My DD has the game Where's My Water on her iPad. My DH even got hooked on it. It's a Disney game and really fun, but really too hard to use on the iPod. The 4 year old likes puzzles on Tozzle and Miss Spider.
For myself I like Whirly Words and Scramble. One I use a lot is Gas Buddy, really helps find cheap gas.

IMDB is a must have for any movie/TV buffs. I'm a weather junkie, so Weather.com and Intellicast are there. I love solitaire and crosswords, and just started Words with Friends with DS, all for keeping my gray matter functioning :-)

Word Warp is another fun word game. I have it for my iTouch - but we were able to get it on the iPad also.

Fun2be - How does the Scrabble work? Can I do it just on my own? Not interested in online games, and don't want to pay the $$ if I don't like it.

Just signed up for gas buddy-thanks!

One I like is the weight watchers scanner. You can scan almost any product and it will tell you how many points it is and then you can add it to your daily tracker automatically. Saves a lot of time in writing stuff down.

I like Shazam for finding out the name of a song on the radio or tv. But I guess there are better apps that actually give you the lyrics too.

I love words with friends and bejewelled games. doodlejump is fun too.

Fun, yes you can play Scrabble by yourself. You play against the computer. But you can win.

I'd suggest playing the free version for awhile, if you get hooked, you'll want to pay (under $3.00) for the ap....no pesty advertising.

Let see, one of my favourites is SkyView - shows location of planets and stars even in your house - I have the paid one but you can get it free also. AppZilla2 - has a lot of apps on it like a flashlight, level, hearing test, mirror etc.

CBC Radio, Global Video (I can watch tv shows), some radio stations. Kobo and ibooks, Facebook, Scrabble, Bejeweled, Angry Birds(Seasons) Pinterest, Voice Actions (love this one - like Siri on the iphone) LOL I stubbed my toe once and the voice asked me if I was okay LOL. I also have Canadian Tire for the ads, TED.

What I love best are the podcasts - I listen to history podcasts from BBC every night when I go to bed. Things You Didn't Learn in History Class is another podcast I really like. LOL I have become reaquainted with the Magna Carta, William the Conqueror, medieval England. I wish they had these when I was taking history in school.

I also play Words with Friends and my niece suggested I get the Hanging with Friends.

I love my ipod for the camera and video and checking my email is much easier than using my computer. I also use Skype.

Ramp Champ and Skee Ball are some fun games too. Both are free but you can buy extras for them. There are also some really great pinball games that can be played on the iPod/iPad.

My Kindle app has over 800 books most of them I downloaded free and I am thoroughly enjoying reading them.
