What are your favorite Ipad apps?

I have a lot of apps I enjoy but I recently discovered Zite which has rapidly become a favorite. This is a free news app that lets you customize your reading choices from a variety of topics and then provides interesting articles in a Pinterest type layout. Once I get started with it, I have the hardest time putting it down. When I set up my choices, I added science and some other topics I'd normally pass on. To my surprise, the Science related articles are some of my favorite reads.

Another app I use daily and consider to be invaluable is Mileage HD. I have two jobs that I can write off mileage with. This program allows me to tract my miles and separate what miles go with which job. It calculates the amount due, and it also has a notes section to document things that I need to tract like receipts and so on.

I love AirVideo. I use it to stream content stored on my PC to my iPad so I can watch it around the house without downloading the content to my iPad.

I agree with the Airvideo recommendation. I don't really use many apps so this will be informative for me too. :)

The only ones I use are ebay, Pandora, amazon for streaming videos and netflix.

I will admit that I do like tocaband which is kids app for DS :)

agree this should be set up in your email client. I help set up some for the church so that they can send out their senior friends newsletters. I did it all in yahoo email. just set up a group and put all the addresses in that group. There are several font and color options in yahoo mail and most email clients do offer those options. Once the letter is set up and ready just select the group to send it to from the contacts list and that is it.

Okay, my whole to-do list is now on Workflowy. It could not be easier to use. I like it a lot. I had my kids d/l it too. I am a big fan. I was happy that it was relatively painless to cut and paste it from my docx file. I ended up upgrading to Workflowy pro, which will automatically backup my list to a drop bpx, enable me to edit offline, and also gave me additional fonts and themes for the look of the app. Pricey, though, at $49/yr. On that last point, I think they could really improve the looks. Even with Workflowy Pro's extra choices, the look is very spartan. And the themes were designed by a 13yo boy I think. It sounds minor, but it isn't. It will be something I look at every day. How tough is it to allow different background colors and fonts? Two other comments. One, Any. Do has voice recognition. That is very handy; they should add it. Two, I think items on the list that have due dates associated with them could be handled differently. Right now you can tag them with a hash tag, but I think you they should make it easier to associate and item with a due date, perhaps using a drop down calendar. Thank you, Marina Gal!

I don't have a tablet, but I luuuvvv my iPod 4. It does everything a tablet would. It uses the iTunes format, but I'm sure the other devices have the same Apps. I do have the Kindle App if I want to "read." It's not a full function Kindle, but I do have 1,200+ print books in it, right in my iPod. 1,195 of them were free! I am nearly always listening to audiobooks. I tuck the iPod in the strap of my running bra; it stays in place and I don't even have to wear earbuds to hear it clearly. While I'm doing my mindless work of laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc. I'm being entertained. The audio book is the foreground and the daily grind becomes the background "noise." I just checked to see if springpad was available for all platforms and it is! I use it all the time I have it on my phone, tablets and pc all synced together. It is so easy to save something I might want to look at later or make a note about something. Check it out I bet you can find a use for it too. Super easy to use. Springpad I have used Imageshack for years and years for storing my pics online and using the codes to post them to forums etc. they make apps for apple and android which are great you can send your pics right from your phone or tablet etc to your imageshack account and lots more. I use it all the time. these are some of them check there may be more. Of course you would need an imageshack account which is free, I have had mine for years and have never had problems with it like I have with photobucket! SkyPath by Imageshack Corp that is for apple ImageshackDroid android version Skypath For Android another android option with skypath I have been using the imageshackdroid one but I will try the skypath one now to see which I like better.

I'm sort of a weather app nut, and my favorite of all has been Intellicast HD. When I first got it the app was only for iPads, but I see now it's for iPhones as well so will be putting it on my phone.

Thanks for that info Moonshadow! My hubby will love that App! We both have iphones so may just put it on his and not the Ipad. I actually do not have many apps at all on my ipad.

Photon will let you use content that normally requires Flash.

Math Bingo is great for kids, especially for multiplication tables.

DH and the kids and I have fun with the Photobooth app. It's just silly.

I don't really have that many, but I like Words with Friends and sometimes Bedazzled. Facebook. One Kings Lane. Rue La La.

I'll be curious to see more recommendations.

Wanelo - haven't used this one but my teenager loves it. Her friend's mom told me about it and said it's addictive. I think it is kind of like pinterest but for clothes shopping.

You're welcome tina :) I really didn't load up my iPad either, I have much more on my iPhone, not for any particular reason I can think of though.

A couple more iPad apps I like:

GoSkyWatch It's a planetarium app for anyone who likes astronomy. Point it to the night sky and the app will identify what's up there :) There is a free and paid version. If you buy, it's still much less $ than other astronomy apps.

And Civil War Today (a History Channel app). Pricey as apps go but back when I purchased it was half off (and is 50% off right now, too) Packed with interesting information for any CW buffs. It follows the war in daily format from its early rumblings, unfolding it to the app user much like someone who lived during that period would be exposed to developments. In addition to headlines are photo of the day, number of casualties to date for each side, a day in the life (both men & women, letters written), what the world was like at the time and battle maps.

You can go to most of the websites instead of downloading the apps above so you don't use up memory & money. FB & Houzz came with mine, but it's much easier to go to their dot com page.

Other than games, I've downloaded Google Earth and a subscription to a magazine.

GE has long been one of my favortites, especially on the PC. It's a free download and I can spend hours "flying" across the earth! Today I spent a lot of time in New Guinea. lol.

Houzz and realtor.com apps are better and easier to navigate than going to the websites.

Dragonvale is an awesome game..just get thru the first couple days and you can then check in less frequently. Happy breeding!
