Is the crack in the tub a surface crack or all the way through? There is stuff you can get to refinish it, which might work if it's just a surface crack. If it's cracked all the way through, well...it might make a nice planter. LOL!

Just a thought about the tub. When we had one put in, one of the workers dropped something in the new tub. The contractor had someone come in and repair it! You couldn't tell now even if you knew where it is! That tub has been there and used daily (at least) for over 10 years! Check into that before you replace the tub!!!

Sorry about all your ouchies! The one on your breast sounds the worst tho.

I am sorry to hear of your bad luck. They say trouble comes in threes, but it seems you have had double that. Our shower stall was cracked and we had a company come over and fix it good as new. Perhaps you could look into doing that.

One thing though--it seems odd to me a bathtub should crack that badly just from dropping a towel bar. It's one thing if the towel bar is built like a tire iron, but most towel bars I've seen lately have been fairly flimsy. I think you should consider contacting the manufacturer. Were you doing the reno on your own, or do you have a GC you trust? If the latter, see what he thinks. If the former, do some research, ask around.

For the boob injury, I wonder if you could use that liquid bandage stuff. I've only used it on a small cut, but it seems like it might work on a large area. You could ask one of our nurses if it would work or if they have a better suggestion. I hope your scrapes heal up quickly!

Yeah, call the tub manufacturer. They'll likely send someone out or direct you to a company. Wherever you purchased it will also be able to help with someone to fix it. I know Home Depot and Lowes does.

Sorry about your boobie. Witch Hazel will take the sting out so it doesn't hurt so much. It has a little bit of alcohol in it, so apply it will sting a little initially.

Did you charge your bathtub on your credit card? Many credit cards have a feature that will replace a item that was damaged, (even if you damaged it yourself). Last year my ex husband came home from purchasing a microwave and set it on the stove and went to the bathroom. When he came out the microwave was in flames! American express replaced the entire microwave with a check for the purchase price. Check with your credit card co., you should have 90 days.

Sometimes our luck just runs bad, it will change soon, I'm sure of that.

Thanks everyone for the tips and advice. DH said the tub was cracked but it looks more like a couple of deep chips to me. He is out looking for a fiberglass repair kit. I just put a gauze pad and tape on it so doesn't bleed through. Man, it is going to be one HE!! of a bruise. It is already swelling up and I was no itty bitty before, (44DDD), and boy does it hurt! It is worse then my sprain finger. DH is going to stop at the drug store to get me a splint (for the finger, not the other. LOL). I will keep the frozen peas on it and the finger till he gets back.

Leslie - we are having pork today. I also have some black beans, will they work in place of black eye peas? And what is 'hoppin john'? I will eat anything (almost) to change this bad luck to good.

Here is Glenda's recipe.

My rendition of hopping john
Hopping John

1 large onion chopped
2 large garlic cloves
2 16 oz can drained black-eyed peas
2 cups chick broth
1 cup uncooked reg rice
1 tsp salt
2 Tbl butter

Saute onion and garlic in butter until tender.
Add rest of ingredients - ***I don't add the black eye peas, until rice is cooked, cause I use canned, but heat them before adding** cook 20 minutes until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender
I also add a small can minced green chile's NOW

And of course serve with pork and turnip greens for New Years.

Sorry for your bad luck and all the injuries. The tub can be repaired and won't cost that much and you won't have to replace it. I suggest knee pads, elbow pads, helmet, etc. for your body though. Please, be careful.

Hopping John sounds good to me. I wish someone else could do the cooking, everytime I move it hurts. Trust me, that is not a place where you want to get a major bruise. Ouch!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I didn't do a lot because I really couldn't between a busted finger and my other BIG bobo. We had the best weather today that we have had in a very long time so sat outside on the louge chair with dear dog, Elvira, and took an afternoon snooze in the sun. Boy, that felt good. Sometimes the simple things are the best.
