HFC vs Honey

Many years ago I developed a recipe for BBQ sauce that used HFCS (high fructose Corn Syrup)and it is fabulous. Given all the bad stuff we read, and the current demonization of HFCS, I want to substitute the HFCS for something else. Can I use Honey, or if not, what else would you suggest? Or should I just leave the HFCS in the recipe? It is partially about mouth-feel and partially nutritional. TYI
