Your hairstyle, and how long it takes you to style it every day
Comments (62)My hair is layered with bangs and falls just below my ears so I can tuck it back if I want. I wash it every 3 or 4 days. Takes 10 minutes to blow dry and curl under. Other days I just dry set it in velcro rollers before I climb in the shower to make it curl under and by the time I'm dressed it's ready to go. I've tried putting it in hot rollers and all kinds of different things but my hair has always been straight, lays flat and limp and won't hold curl so it might look done up for 30 minutes but that's it and it's back to flat and straight. I can't stand hair spray & other poofy products. judith I understand your hair concerns. I'm 56 and a few years ago mine became extremely thin. I stopped coloring, stopped drinking diet soda, started using nioxin shampoo and rogaine, eating protein bars and drinking more water. Went to the doc and tests came back fine. I wish I could say my efforts solved my problems but my hair is still thin up front and I have a lot of daily loss. I gave up on using the rogaine because it's something to be used for life and I'm not that dedicated. I'll never go back to coloring simply due to the freedom of appointments and cost savings. My hair never was shiny and ful and my nails have always been horrible. I can't tell you how many things I've tried there (biotin, lotions, polishes, etc). I can't change what I've been given. Mines not horrible. I've accepted it and moved on....See MoreAre You Doing Anything Special for Valentine's Day?
Comments (24)We don't really celebrate Valentine's Day. I don't care for the overly sentimental cards and it's hard to enjoy roses or other flowers if you know they've jacked the price up. We didn't even celebrate it when we were newlyweds. But...my DH's car died and after calculating the cost of repair combined with the 150,000 miles on it we opted to buy a new car. So yesterday we decided to take a nice drive into the country and made reservations at a great little pub, restaurant and brewery. It was thoroughly enjoyable and neither of us mentioned the 'Valentine' word....See MoreDaughter wearing wedding band as necklace
Comments (2)Yep. You're far too sensitive on this one. This ring is nothing to you. However it means something to the girl. I have a hunch she has not had it long and she'll soon put it in a jewel box. Ignore it. It's hers and something special to her that represents her beginnngs. You've been with her father for five years, it's no threat to you. Make a stink over it and it will become one. And for the record, my children were given my similar type items (ring, earrings ect) from my first marriage...it's no big deal. One adult child had stones from earrings and a necklace reset and wears it all the time. yeah, it get it surprised you and that to you you feel the ring should be banished (destroyed, just like the marriage was) and never to see the light of day again. You'd like the ring to poof just like the marriage did, new start, new beginning, no signs from the past... But the threat exist only in your head. That marriage ended long ago, think of the ring on the chain as nothing more than a piece of jewerly that belongs to the child. It's nothing to your BF, don't let it become a sore point. It's nothing to be jealous of, resent, and/or get all angry and upset over. Her mother and father were once married and created her, it's a present of her beginnings from (I assume) her mother. To the child it means something, to you, it's nothing. Let it go....See MoreDo you wear every day jewelry?
Comments (3)Diamonds go with everything ;)... but seriously.... You could go in so many directions for a ring. Check out ebay and read the descriptions carefully and ask questions. Make sure the karat weight is spelled out and the gold is not listed as plate or any other faux word. I got a ring for my 10th anniversary on ebay and it is wonderful. It took me hours of browsing and a few lost auctions, but I ended up with the one I was meant to wear. It is like nothing I have seen before or since. Once you have the ring, then go for the bracelet. You will know when the right one hits. Make sure you use a - before words that you don't want. (i.e. -silver if you don't want silver). My searches got so wordy when narrowing down results. Sadly, there are a lot of people trying to raise cash in this economy so you can do your part and get a real bargain. The way I look at it, my bids helped people get more for their jewelry and for the one I bought, I was the highest bid, so that helped the seller out....See MoreUser
