Stinky, sweaty, smelly old clothes as deer repellent?
Comments (4)Deer will grow used to about anything like oder repellants, water sprinklers, flashing lights you name it. I control mine here but you may not be able to do it in our area with a 410Ga shotgun with target loads in it. At 30 ft that will not penatrate the tough hide on a deers rump. But it will certainly deliver a very strong long lasting memory. If you can manage to catch them out in the dark. the combination of the roar of the shotgun the muzzel flash and the sting of the shot is just about enough to keep them away from the area for a life time. I had a whoile herd scared to come into my area for a couple of years but a a cpuple bucks wondered in from other ares this year and I had to clarify the boundries to them....See Moretips for wrinkly cloth napkins
Comments (11)My only two thoughts in that case are dryer balls and/or pull them out before completely dry. You might be overdrying them. If they're slightly damp they won't wrinkle. Actually you could fold them and they'd crease almost like they were ironed. I'm not saying pull them wet, just with a bit of dampness. Many people scoff at the dryer balls, but I've had favorable experience with them and I especially notice it with washcloths and towels. I use six in my extra large dryer and I think it makes a small difference in dry time but more importantly, things just fluff better. Things aren't knotted, towels are fluffy and soft too....See MoreWhat's the real lowdown on FL machines and smelly clothes?
Comments (17)I have to agree with sspye here. If you have a traditional toploader, you should be leaving the lid open after the last load, or you will get that funky sour smell. Having had FL in the '80s and now having a FL, it's the same. After use, let the door open a jar, doesn't have to stand fully open. I also read alot on her about the killing of germs to make sure that no "funk" grows in the machine. Being the the medical field, I would like to pass on this bit of information. In hospitals, when medical staff "scrubs" up for surgery, they DO NOT use "HOT" water. It is tempted water, soap, and looooonnnngg wash/scrub time on the hands. Yes, a brush/lofa type devise is used, but the real trick in the long wash time to kill the germs. Google handwashing on the net and most articals will tell you to spend atleast 15-20 seconds with a vigorus motion. This is why FLs have a long washer time. Other than that, sspye is right, no rocket surgery. Ocassional bleach on the whites in hot water, TaDa!!! no problems....See MoreRed wine stains on cloth napkins?
Comments (18)You might want to try Mama's Miracle Linen Soak on those red wine stains. You'll need to dissolve it in boiling water, but then you just turn off the heat and soak the item until the stain is gone. I've never seen it fail! Lots of churches even use it on Communion cloths. I'm posting photos of a pair of white jeans that was stained with spilled wine when I leaned up against the sink. I didn't do anything until the next day, but then I mixed the solution and soaked the jeans overnight. All gone! (Forgive my bad lighting; the jeans were pristine white, not at all yellow afterwards.)...See Moreliz_h
