Our draftsman said you have to buy their floor plan to get their room dimensions. In actuality when I drew it out, the master bathroom and the laundry area, pantry and 1/2 bath came out larger than the original plan with the same exterior measurements. We did add a foot in width so ours will measure 32 x 33. Totalling 1089 sq ft. We hope to live it until we die. My parents passed last year and they struggled with a narrow hallway in a wheelchair. Also no walk in shower. The other problem for them was 32" wide doors. Too narrow when you are in a wheelchair. Plus the swing doors are a nightmare if you are in a wheelchair. We have considered all of these things with this house. We also want small ramps going up to the front and side door.s. Most people don't plan for aging.

There is no need to use flexible duct for the main supply and return. The installer did this to minimize his cost. Using hard duct would look a lot better and give better air flow. Is setting the furnace on the platform something you requested? Is there a concern of flooding? I don't like what I see for the condensate drain. How is it connected to the plumbing for drainage and how can it be cleaned in case there is a blockage?

We have an old gutted farmhouse, we’re replacing the furnace but aren’t sure how to get the duct work to the upstairs as the floor joists are rafters. We will have propane heating and are in Wisconsin. Does anyone have suggestions on how to do this? Or a better alternative?

Is the new framing along the exterior walls built in front of an existing, finished exterior wall? Will those open exterior wall stud bays be insulated?  I would think the 10" flex duct could transition into square duct above the closet ceiling, then run inside the stud bays, then transition back to flex beneath the floor. Idk which way the floor joists run but it seems doable either direction.  This looks like it was just run whichever way was easiest for the installer and in the absence of a plan. It happens, can certainly be tightened up
