Need some advice about a/c location

We have a dance studio with two studio rooms. Both a/c units are located in the same closet in Studio B. The air return for Studio B and the Waiting Room sits just below the thermostat in the Studio B. The air return for Studio A opens to an non-temperature controlled public area. The thermostat for Studio A is in the Waiting Room. There is an air grille below that thermostat in the Waiting Room that opens up into the non-temperature controlled area. There is also an air grille in the door to Studio A. We are having trouble getting the temperature cool enough in Studio A. I was wondering if there should be some duct work connecting the Air Return for the Studio A a/c unit to the air grille going into the Waiting Room. Does system "A" cool the waiting room and studio A?
Is this the first cooling season of use? If not:
Did it work in previous years?

I think if system "A" is pulling return air from an unconditioned space, that is cresting more load on the system and it may not be sized for that. If possible adding a small piece of duct to connect the return grille from the waiting room directly to the air handler and eliminating picking up return air from the unconditioned space should help. Since there is a return grille in the door from studio A to the waiting room, the thermostat could be placed in studio A near the door. That should help control the temp in studio A

Refrigman1, Thanks for such a quick response. System "B" cools the waiting room. System "A" cools only Studio A. I believe we are going to take your advice and connect the waiting room grille to the air handler and relocate the thermostat. Thank you for the advice. Bob

Temperate trees/shrubs need a cold rest, so your plan to keep the tree indoors is not a good one and will undoubtedly end in disappointment. I would take him to your closest wildlife rehab place, and ASK them what they will do. Ours never euthanizes anything until after their vet has looked at them, and they go to extraordinary lengths to save all animals. That is what i was trying to get at. If system B cools the waiting room why is the thermostat for studio A in there? That is causing premature shut off of system A
