Fuse blown, A/C not working

I am a new homeowner with not much knowledge about the ac system. I have carrier ac (model # 38ckc) which I believe doesnot have heat pump (we have gas furnace for heating). I changed the thermostat to 5-2 programmable thermostat in winters and the heating worked fine. But yesterday when I tried to switch to cooling and it didnot work. So I tried to put my old thermostat back (it worked fine when I replaced it) and as spoon as I turned the power back on, it looks like I blew some fuse or something because now the fan is also not working. No clue how to have things up and running. Any help would be appreciated.
