My first batch of chicken jerky is in the Excaliber

Hope it works! I paid $18.00 for 9 small, fresh hormone free, pesticide free, boneless, skinless chicken breasts. My sister's malti-poo has congestive heart failure so we are being very careful with what he eats, and these are just better for her other dog and my yorkie.

The Excaliber book said to cook the chicken first so I boiled it. Do ya'll cook it first?

I also bought 8lbs of eye of round and had the butcher slice it 1/4" thick with the grain to make jerky for us. Is that a good cut for jerky?

Thank you!
