I finally got my check

I thought I would update on my Whirlpool Duet 9200, I finally got my check and they picked up the washer. I am still very happy with the 4 yr old Speed Queen Frontloader set that I got for $500.00, I have had no problems, well I have had alittle bit of a tangle issue but I can pull 1 item out and they all don't come out in a braided ball, they come apart easily, and for the suds issue I had with the Duet, well I have NO PROBLEMS with the SQ I love it, the only thing I dont like is the opening is small, but I can do as much in this machine as I was told I could in the Duet. It has been great without all the hassle I went through with the Duet.

Good news, mc58! How did you manage that? I thought Whirlpool was unwilling to do much to resolve the issues you were experiencing.

I was outside one day in Nov. looking in the garage at a new washer sitting there "worthless", I was very upset seeing it, not wanting to sell it to someone and passing on the problem, so I decided to call them one more time, I asked to talk to a manager again and explained the whole thing to them and she said "well I am going to have to send someone out to see what the problem is", I told her NO that was not possible because it is now in the garage and has been since Sept. she insisted that someone needed to come out and check it, I just kept being very persistent and kept telling her No that was not going to happen, I told her about the SQ set that I got to replace it and I explained how I haven't had a problem with them, so I know that it is the model 9200! I asked for a refund, she put me on hold and then she said that she would send it to the review board. The next day I got a phone call and they said they would send me a check. But it took a while. I actually got a phone call from her the 2nd week of Dec. she asked if I had got my check yet, I told her no, so she investigated it. I ended up with a phone call on Dec.19 from the company that came and picked it up and gave me my check.

You just have to let them know that it's not exceptable, when you pay $1000.00 for a washer, you expect it to wash your clothes.

It was a very long and painful process to go through, but it was worth the fight.

I hope that anyone else going thru similar problems with any brand washing machine, take charge of the issue and don't let them tell you that they can't do anything for you. Because they can and will! you just have to hang in there and don't give up. I almost did.

My Nana picked one up, too, and when we asked a lady who worked there what they were (as they were unlabelled and looking very sad in a corner), she just shrugged and said, "Pink." Congratulations! I want every bag of leaves I see on the curb, but having a small suburban back yard I probably have all I can handle. I have wanted a leaf shredder for a long time but my shredder is an old fashioned lawn mower, the kind that is people-powered, which I mow back & forth over the leaves dumped on the patio & then scoop them back into bags with the snow shovel. Necessity is the mother of invention & I am the aunt, I guess. Any way, it is more labor intensive but at least I feel like I'm burning a lot of calories when I do it.

The fence situation is the kink of the whole property, and is causing me the biggest grief right now. What you can't tell from the photo is that the pool is actually raised higher than the yard behind it, and there is approximately 10 feet behind/between the pool fence and the split rail fence that runs the perimeter of the yard. The lattice is largely there for privacy, as none of the pools in our area have fences for code. Neighborhood rules dictate that you can have a privacy fence around your pool, provided it's far enough back from the property line. (Where the split rail fence is) I want to do just what you're saying, but it would be ALOT of money right now. They'd basically have to come in and build a new retaining wall behind the pool, add fill dirt to bring the surface level with the existing pool deck to expanding the area (to allow for flowers and the like), and then we could fence around that. However, we would then be very close to the setback requirements. Arrgghhhhh....... Since we're so far over budget on the interior renovation, this project may have to wait until next year. :(
