I also bought a lightly used copy of the DVD "Lars and the Real Girl." I've heard from friends that it's a wonderful movie. With shipping, it came to less than $6. That's funny!! I bought a copy of that not 3 months ago on eBay. I loved Ryan Gosling in 'The Notebook', and this had good reviews. It's a good movie!

The last thing I bought was a 1950 copy of the yearbook from the high school I went to. I wasn't even born then, but it was/is a small town and I know people who went to school during that time. I hope that my girlfriend's parents are in there because I am planning on enlarging the pictures and framing them for her birthday. She lost all her old pictures in a fire. I doubt she had any school pictures of her parents anyhow.. so this should be a big surprise to her.

I haven't bought anything on eBay in quite some time, but that changed in December! LOL! I've been having fun with eBay ... I bought a new Cricut Expressions machine in mid-December, for about $150 less than I could buy it at the store. Then, just last week got two cartridges for it ... one was $30, the other was $35 ... (no shipping) rather than $90 ea for the same cartridges at Michael's or JoAnn's. Michael's has them on sale starting today, but they're still $45 ea.

Not on ebay, but went to a couple of auctions this week and bought a few things. At the first one, I bought a very old pair of french doors. They are solid half way up, and the panes are very heavy beveled glass. I got them for a steal...at $80 apiece...plus a 10% buyer's premium. My friend who owns a shop was there, so paid for them on her tax number and didn't have to pay sales tax.

Went yesterday...mostly box lots, but I bought 3 unusual bentwood chairs for $5 apiece. They are all different from each other. Also a very, very old, primitive looking chair...I love it...has some ancient repairs to it. I even gave it a name..."Grandpa". Just for fun, a collection of swizzle sticks...people had been world travelers and they are from all over, and probably from the 1950's mostly. I love the shapes and the details. Some are glass. Also a '50's picture of a busty blond and a palomino horse. One of my odd collections are that vintage palomino horses. I have several pictures of them in parade saddles...all with a
pretty blond standing next to them. Also a hanging lamp with a round glass ball shade...also $5 and a vintage salad server set from Los Angeles, wood with ceramic handles...souvenir...says "Cookin' lasts. Kissin' don't."

and for myself I bought a Laptop after Christmas. Looked around on Boxing Day but didn't find any spectacular deals so I decided to buy one on the internet. Can't wait to get it.

Paul Revere Stainless flatware serving pieces. I purchased my PR stainless in 1960. before I even met my husband, I just liked them. I remember Mom thought I was "nuts". Service for 12 with some serving pieces, in a wood case for $49.99. Mom must have really liked them because a year or so later she purchased the same pattern, remember using both sets for the informal dinner Mother gave after our wedding in 1963. Her set later ended up in their summer home, which I received when they died, her's didn't have all the serving pieces, so now I do, still LOVE the pattern and use mine everyday, strangely one of the constant things I have had in my life all these years, and yes pieces have gone missing, next e-bay buy will be dinner forks, nothing ever went missing when the kids were growing up, so I have only myself to blame.

I like e-bay but PayPal makes me nervous. I've gotten a number of scams of people pretending to be PayPal, and it really bothers me. How do they know if I'm a PayPal member or not?

Beautiful necklace. I have some druzy pieces too. I love to look at them in the sun. You can find lots of unique and unusual pieces on ebay.

I got some books and CD's from ebay as Christmas gifts. I did get a ring but had to send it back because the stones were terrible. The pictures and ad were not an accurate description. That is the problem with buying jewelry on ebay. Often sellers either do not describe it well or out and out lie.

Susan, I wouldn't worry about the Paypal scams. Don't open them, and never reply. I just forward them on to spoof@paypal.com. I hardly get any of these anymore.

Yes, a slice of a very large geode. At least large by my standards. I bought a couple of rings from this seller a year or so ago. They're carved from solid stone (one or two pieces). Beautiful and real conversation pieces, but a little awkward to wear as they're so chunky and heavy.

I meant to add that I bought a Waring Pro electric martini mixer on eBay as a gift this Christmas. I paid $45 - *much* less than I could find it elsewhere. I hope it works, but I think it will. The seller had perfect feedback, and it really did seem to be brand new-in-box.

Yesterday I bought a pair of Cinch jeans for Jammer's son, at about half price.

I buy quite a few books and plastic canvas patterns on Ebay. My hubby and I have bought everything from a book to a 3 wheeled motorcycle (trike) on Ebay.

Susan, we are looking at a 1900-ish farm house that is for sale to be moved. Someone bought it from a house mover about 3 years ago, only to find out that due to deed restrictions where he lives, he can't move it. So, it is still sitting on the mover's lot. The mover wants it off...it is taking up a lot of space and the longer it sits, the more it is deteriorating...having gone through a hurricane this year and is partially standing open.

We have cash and have made an offer on it. He wants more, but I don't think anyone will pay his price. One guy wants it, but doesn't have the money and wanted to get a bank to finance it. I don't believe any bank will touch it. The moving has already been paid on it, and it is just 12 miles from where we live.

So, if we get the house...I will use them in there. I have collected old doors and cupboards, windows, and all kinds of things for years. If we don't get the old house, we will build a new house and make it as much like an old one as possible, and use them in there.

I buy way too much on Ebay. I just sold my first item-a set of eight Kentucky Derby Souvenir glasses. I got eight bids and sold the set for $40. Hurray for me!

I'm a big time Ebayer. Just bought an ash vac for cleaning out the wood stove, no more hauling ashes. Paid 219. and it goes for 350. elsewhere. I've even bought a car and a van off Ebay, Saved nine grand.

I sold a suit! Brand new with tags; my size 4 days are behind me - I finally conceded.

It sold, of course, for less than I'd hoped, but the amount I got is far better than a suit sitting in my closet never to be worn.

Yesterday, my DIL won a 1935 hand-crank sewing machine for me. Mostly we buy from Ebay Australia but have had a few bargains from your Ebay also. Found a set of the seven dwarfs, to go with Snow White. It was a Christmas gift for my GD. They were brand new. I was happy, only paying $6.00 for them.
