Slight correction- the ARI Ref# for the Infinity 16 is 1409574. The SEER ratings are the same for the Inf 16 and 19, but the EER rating for the 19 is higher, 10.8 vs. 10.3.
So I'd get a slightly better EER, a scroll compressor, but would give up 3,000 BTUs by using the Infinity 19 HP vs the Infinity 16 HP.
Thoughts?

if you don't need the 3000 cooling BTUs from the Inf 16 and the price is close, then go with the Inf 19.

One other thought. Depending on your location and the two stg HP, the MVC may be overkill and you could drop down to the MVB and save some $$.

Thanks for your latest input. The salesman had written down Infinity 16HP but listed the model number that was the 19- which is what was delivered. They said I could keep the 19 at no additional cost or they'd get a 16 if I wanted.
That's how I happened to find myself in this position.

I'm close on cooling requirements, but don't think I'll notice much of a difference with 3,000 fewer btus. So I'm in agreement with your leanings.

I agree the MVC may be overkill, but pricing for the system was very good and the highest level of rebates apply.

I like the scroll compressor, but I like the capacity split of the Infinity 16--low stage is around 55% of the nominal capacity. With the Infinity 19, low stage is around 75% of the nominal capacity. The Infinity 16 should run longer and remover more humidity. The performance is slightly better with the Infinity 16, isn't it? It's your choice. Two different compressors. The Infinity 16 stops to switch stages; the Infinity 19 can switch stages on the fly.

Carrier has had leaking evap. coil problems. Make sure you get the CNPHP6024ATA coil (note the ATA at the end, not the ACA). The *ACA coils are prone to leaking problems, and the *ATA coils are supposed to be a fix from Carrier.

It is the ATA. Glad I have the latest on that. I didn't consider the low stage differences and probably should have.

Yesterday was installation of my new Carrier 5-ton Infinity 19 HP with 58MVC100 furnace and Air Purifier. There was also some constructive revamping of my existing ductwork, feeding in my three returns. The startup person came shortly before the installers left, and everything seemed ok, but when the Infinity Controller was first switched on, the warning of high static pressure came on the screen- I think it said 1.33 at 1750 cfm (but not exactly sure if I've got that right).

(If I could figure out how to do it, I could post a couple pictures if that would
be at all useful.)

The system has been running ok since last evening and I expect to have some people return today or tomorrow to try to figure this out.
Is there anything that comes to mind as a possible cause and possible fix?

Am I doing any harm by running the system until it's figured out?
