I just got the sport yesterday to go with my Kenmore HE2 washer (same as the sport washer). So far, so good -- I'm now on my second load. It seems to match the washer just fine, but I'm not too picky about that.
I'm only doing laundry for 2 people so don't need a huge capacity machine, but it still has several settings, wrinkle guard -- and some type of moisture sensor.
I guess it just depends on the look for you!

I have the HE2 dryer also (have had it for 1-1/2 months). Not really sure what you're asking though. It works fine, but is there something specific you'd like to know?

Duets matching dryer is the 9250. I've had mine for two years. Works fine and is, of course, a good match for the 9400 washer in every way.

That said, dryers are pretty simple machines compared with washers and, except for aesthetic preferences, there is no particular reason to choose a Duet dryer just because you have a Duet washer. Do suggest 7cf capacity for a good match with the washer's capacity and do get one with a moisture sensor. Some people prefer stainless drums compared with the Duet's porcelain enamel but I regard as non-issue.

Whatever you get, use the change-out interval as an opportunity to clean-out/blow-out the vent.

I got the Duet Sport 8500 dryer at Best Buy for $700 and am very happy. I doesn't fold or iron the clothes but it gets them dry fast and has the wrinkle-shield feature that I like. I dry all of my clothes on Low temp and sheets and towels on Medium - the clothes seem happy and they don't come out all wrinkled like in my old, tiny dryer.

if you ever think you may need to stack the washer and dryer then you would need the matching set for the best fit...if not, then get what you like for the features you need

Let me clarify; I'm just looking for feedback on these dryers and also would like to know if there is a similar machine by another manufacturer that anyone would suggest instead. I'm asking because Whirlpool Duet wasn't highly rated in Consumer Reports; neither was Bosch. First in CR was a GE and then an LG Tromm (which I thought had read was unreliable on this forum). In JD Powers surveys, Whirlpool was dead last but Bosch was the top-rated brand. Not much information when I try to compare the two sources. I'm just looking for a good dryer (it doesn't have to match perfectly) that will stand on a pedestal side-by-side with my Duet washer and not look too terrible with it. I don't anticipate ever needing to stack them.

I've had no problems with my 9250 dryer. I have mine stacked on top of the 9400 washer to save space in my laundry room and really like them stacked.

I've had the 8500 Duet Sport dryer for about 3 months and it works great, no issues whatsoever. Got mine at Lowe's for around $630, IIRC.
