Stacy, we were in Tulsa, OK for Christmas (visiting my daughter) and we had 80 degree temps one day while there. Of course, two days later when we headed home, we had to scrape frost off of the windshield! I promise, if they ever find an easy way to ship the stuff south, I'll send you some :-) Joyce

Wow, some amazing pictures. I hope we don't see that anytime soon. When it comes like that it takes forever to thaw. Kids could make a fort in it, although I might worry if I saw them doing it.

We have snow...but it doesn't even cover your shoes...

It's been 0 all day and now that it is past 5:00 it is up to 10degrees and will be up to 18 by 9:00 tonight...isn't that crazy...??? You'd think it would get colder at night instead of warmer.

Toni my DD Heather and DS were just talking about that! They were saying remember that big snowpile out back, we were out there with Uncle John and he dug it out for us. They actually had roomS in it. LOL Lotsa fun.
I did see a Dad digging one out for his little ones, it was a little hill and little ones under 5 though.

June, the pics are taken in Laurium, MI, on the Keweenaw peninsula. That's the little peninsula on the very north side of the Michigan UP. It sticks out into Lake Superior. We have what they call 'lake effect' snows. It's very light, fluffy snow and average yearly snowfall is 187 inches (yes, that's over 16 feet on an average year) and that average is over an 80 year period.

And you're right Kathleenca, this year is nothing normal. So far we've had 176 inches of snow and it's only halfway into January. We're running out of places to put the stuff!

Terri, I don't think the flooding is too bad, though I don't know that for sure. This is my first winter here. I'm a native Nebraskan, who spent the last 14 years in Minnesota, then remarried and moved to Michigan in June.

My husband told me 'It's beautiful here in the summer', then a co-worker told me 'It snows a lot there', then my husband said 'It's beautiful here in the summer', then my co-worker said..... anyway, you get the picture :-)

And it is REALLY beautiful here in the summer. Vacation paradise. I absolutely love it!

Wow, that is a tremendous amount of snow you have and its still snowing in the pictures taken.

Our snow mountains aren't as impressive as yours...but here's Wes clearing off the 92' long driveway.

Then he clears the patio between the side entrance to the garage and mudroom/sunporch (which is our main entrance to the house). Then he cuts a big "T" through the back yard so Harry can run around and use the facilities without getting too cold and icy.

He's faster than a speeding bullet! Harry loves it when we come out with him, even for just a few minutes.

Where's that squirrel?

I forgot to mention, Harry, Wes, and I are in Larimore, North Dakota.

jel48: Your pics took me back. I grew up just down the road from you in Hancock. In fact, I have some relatives who live a few blocks away from where the last pic was taken. Small world!

Caroline, thank heaven I don't have to clean that much area every morning! I get off with cleaning 1/2 of a very short driveway and the pile that the snowplow puts at the end of it nearly every day. I am SOOOOO tired of running that snowblower in the morning! Your Harry seems to love the snow like our Lexie does! More then once, I've brought her back to the house covered with white dust from head to toe! The other two dogs don't get that way, just Lexie!

Delbert, we're just 11-12 miles from Hancock, but of course you already know that! Your relatives must live pretty close to us, if they're just a few blocks away from where the last pic is. That grey-black house in the picture is pretty easy to recognize so I'm sure you know exactly where it's at. If I were to turn around (from where the picture was taken) and walk back the other way, my house is just a block and a half back. So we probably walk past your relative's home in the summer when we're taking long walks with the dogs. Not now though, as we're in and out as fast as we can. We don't get any more then 2 blocks from home this kind of weather.

jel48...do they have a lot of small stores so you don't have to go far?

When I was little there was a corner grocery store about every 4 or 5 blocks.

I couldn't see all your pictures, Jel, but from what I can see, it's a pretty scene to me. You have a lovely home.

I realize it's not easy for you all, but our area is so dry and warmer than it should be. This is causing major allergies this season.

So, if you could, just aim that snow blower toward the Texas Panhandle. We've got lots of flat plains and plenty of room for it. :)

I will still take the snow...we might might get flurries with the cold front coming in but no accumilation.....dang it...I love the snow....LOL @ Harry he looks like he is in heaven...STacy

Beautiful!! I wish we would get some snow here in southeastern Pa. All we ever get is freezing rain. I would love a huge snow storm.

Born, raised & live in CA. Cannot even begin to IMAGINE what it would be like to live in snow country!

OK...now I'm home sick! That's ok...I will get my fix come Thursday, the 22nd. We are off to Montana!

No snow in Orlando but its going to be in the 30's for the next few nights. Your snow pictures are pretty. its easy for me to say, I'm not out there shoveling and scraping! What kind of dog is Harry? He looks like my dog.

Not as much snow but no break between storms and bone chilling temps. Expect around 35 below tonight.

Are Caroline and I the only ones that have snow???? Or snow pics, anyway? I would love to see more of other people's snow to make me feel better about mine :-)

DB said he was out on an open tractor yesterday plowing and blowing snow. Throttle froze up and so did the blower! Thats freaking cold!
