Snowed here all morning and part of the afternoon, before rain replaced it. Canceled all of today's planned errands, because of safety concerns. During the afternoon the temperature began rising and coupled with the rain, almost all of the snow had melted by nightfall. A few lawns, with dead summer grass, still have a little showing. AccuWeather is predicting a string of normal temperatures (highs=60s. lows-40s) for 8 days, beginning Saturday and then back to below normal again for? If that happens, I have so much work planned, that I will need a recuperative period!

Just about 2pm here and it is still snowing! Took our little one to preschool only to have a teacher run out and tell my not to unfasten the carseat! They cancelled the afternoon classes. I had a little girl with tears rolling down her face as I drove home! I hope that she always likes school so much!

No pictures, but it snowed here too, about 8 or 9 inches last night, but it's been relatively "snowless" for the past couple of weeks, so I'm not going to complain at all. We couldn't get the tractor through the drifts, so we hauled hay to the cows and horses on a sled, with Elery and I providing the "horse power", LOL. So I definitely got out into the snow! Dave plowed tonight, so tomorrow we'll set a big round bale and that'll last 4 or 5 days, just on time for the next big storm. Well, maybe not, it's supposed to snow every single day this week, but today the sky was blue and it was beautiful. Roads were horrible, though, and the kids were off school. Annie

:) Like the snowmen. Virtual and handmade. l'll send the youngest out with the spray bottle this afternoon. They are always complaining we get only powder or ice. Apologies big time for you northerners who need months to dig out! We endure so little of it in comparison. It's just that I sit here with seed packets, hoping this is the last snow, but knowing I can count on May spring freezes, filing away all the indeterminate tomatoes. Because It will probably be a waste to plant, because I won't get enough to put up before our humid heat ends my main size tomato year in July :( Sigh. Cheryl, when do your martins arrive, if you're so lucky to get tenants? I want to put up houses, never have. It's what I ask for every Mother's Day and don't get...besides my permanent request for roses with ROOTs. :) Our purple martins are supposed to come through starting next week but the ground is solid here.
