I don't know how to do a clickable link so I hope someone can help me. My DIL put this on YouTube of my Grandkids reading a book. It is so neat. Please check it out. I needed this to brighten up my day.

I remember an illustration I used to tell my kids when they were little. You can use any circumstance to fit your needs here. A young person wanted to go and see some terrible movie and asked mama for permission. She was cooking at the time and decided to make some Jell-O- "Tommy" (we'll call him) "Go get those onion skins from the garbage bag, "Now, put them in the Jell-O while I stir it around" Tommy was horrified but he did it. "Now, get those eggshells and do the same thing" After a while Tommy said "But Mom, we'll never be able to eat that Jell-O it's all messed up!!" "Exactly" said mom That's why Mom doesn't always approve of everything you want to do ..you don't have to clutter your mind up with all that garbage" We are all familiar with Internet SPAM and Message Boards Spam. But what about the SPAM that comes into our thinking day in and day out. By Ugly lyrics, by a constant barrage of ads on TV; telling us we are not pretty enough or thin enough etc,. by some newscasters who inject fear and worry on every broadcast. By friends, and relatives perhaps laughing at us for the measures we are taking. I was thinking that we kind of have to handle it like we do with SPAM on the computer. They say the worst thing to do is to reply to it; DELETE IT is most of the advice, even though it takes some effort on our part. They have certain programs now to help get rid of this stuff but most of the time it is up to us. So, from now on when a disturbing thought comes in or unpleasant TV etc, if it is something seemingly not not under my control I'm looking at it like I would the subject line of a SPAM email, and if it is not something I know or need to know, I am DELETING it and not going to roll it around in my mind like a piece of sweet candy.

I love this from lindaohnowga: "Blood doesn't make you family.....love does." A child can never be loved too much. My DDIL runs a home day care. When I stop by, ALL of the kiddos call me "Grammie" and some run up to me. I give them all attention. If I see them outside of that setting, they call me "Grammie." The parents just laugh.... soon enough, they'll realize I'm not their "real grammie" but someone who cares about them to give them a hug and share a doting moment with them. I call them my "grand-friends" and I love on them as if they were blood related. These kiddos will treasure the love you share with them. It's wonderful that you do!

How about going to some marriage and/or family counseling? This son is going to be around for a long time. If your husband can't see that he needs to tell his son he must listen to you then I don't see anything changing for you.

Thank you, thank you.. Momma is a school teacher and does so much with her children. She does a lot of videos with them.

Karenmay, click on the link on Sue-Va and when the You Tube screen comes up, tap on it. The video will come up. Enjoy.

Then, you copy it. You do know, how to copy and paste?
then you paste it in the box below, where it says, Optional Link URL:

then give it a name in the box where it says Name of the Link:

and you preview, then you submit. :)

Susie 53, when you first post a message, the option for adding a link isn't there. But, once you pre view the post, it is there, and you can now put a link URL in, and give it a name.

then you have to preview again before submitting for it to work.
