Oh, Kathy, BTDT! been there done that. Ugh! In 1989 my DH's Dad sold his 10 acre land and homeplace (MIL died in '83), and he moved into an assisted living place. Became "involved" with a certain 50 something year old nurses aide who gave him special back rubs. They eloped and got married without telling his 4 kids first. Didn't sit well. Two weeks after they had gotten married, she wrecked his car taking him to the doctor, didn't hurt her, but he had a serious head injury. He lived on life support for about 3 months after that. She ended up with a free (practically) brick home that he had hastily bought when they married 2 weeks prior to the accident. Luckily, his checking account was still in his and my SIL's name. That saved the money that was left after buying that brick house, because the 4 siblings took her to court, took a year, and a chunk of the money, but she got the free house but no money. She had to mortgage her house to pay her legal bills because we were dead set on not letting her have a dollar. Then, my SIL pissed everyone off in the family before it was over, over the way she got more than everyone else and didn't want to explain it. Took about 15 years before we even spoke much again. Now we're gardening buddies, but I wouldn't want to involve any money with her lol ... Anyways, Kathy, I understand. It's a pain. Just a complete pain. Hang in there, and try to take the high road. When you look back later, you will be glad you did. I know that y'all are, and the brother you described is not. He won't be easy to deal with throughout the whole affair of settling the estate either. You might need an Excedrin, or something stronger lol, before it's over. Hugs ~Tenderlee

Thanks for the help and translation. I tried google translator before coming to gp, but that did not answer the question, it just asked "did you mean," ........? I did not know what it meant, so here I'm. Thank goodness there are helpful people here. Thanks again.

Yes, a soap solution can kill mites. Falling back into my more pedantic mode , I will mention that the term for the cinnamon infused alcohol Howard mentioned is a "tincture" (in case there should be any interest in such knowledge). Been some time since I made a cinnamon tincture, but if I recall correctly I think it was one tablespoon of cin. per 16oz rubbing alcohol. (If I happen to come across the recipe I used, I'll try to remember to post it.) Don't know if it matters, but I used the highest proof isopropyl carried at the market (90 proof or better). WARNING, said tincture does STAIN -- clothing, bricks, cement, siding, you name it. Staining is pretty much permanent. Don't know if a lesser concentration of cinnamon would make a difference. For those "beloved" earwigs .. Another Dawn related concoction that can be useful is a nicotine spray. To make such, if you or a loved one is a smoker, save the used cigarette butts. Let them steep overnight in water. Water should be a dark tea brown. Filter through a coffee filter to catch any stray particles. In a 16oz sprayer, combine 1\2 cup of the nicotine "tea", 1/4 cup Dawn, and top off with water. Shake gently to mix thoroughly. Spray this under the edges of you siding (usually where the siding stops and the brick begins seems to be where those vermin like to hide out) or other earwig heavy "hot spots". Between the toxic effects of the nicotine and the soapy solution, it tends to do a good job on killing any earwigs on contact. (Can increase the amount of Dawn if necessary.) NOTE: For those, like me, who aren't smokers and can't stand the stench of cigarette smoke, pipe tobacco can also be used. There's even one that has a nice vanilla type scent. Please do not spray this on bees or spiders -- let them do their jobs. For those who either use a rain barrel or have certain plants that do require very damp/wet media (yeah, I know, not the type of plants intended on this forum but ...). While many may know that placing a mosquito dunk in a rain barrel will go a long ways to eliminating mosquito larvae, fewer are aware that a dunk can be used to kill off fungus gnat larvae. Simply break off a 1/4 of one of those mosquito dunk "donuts" and put it in a gallon jug of water. Let it sit overnight or two. Give the container a shake and use the water to water the plants. Continue refilling and reusing that dunk chunk until it completely disintegrates. (Personally for really damp/wet soils, I like Drosera (sundews) and Utricularia (bladderworts). heh) This post was edited by paul_ on Thu, Aug 29, 13 at 23:06

Hi we're a family run composting manufacturer, we've been trading for over 25 years, we supply garden centres with our products nationwide, we are very passionate about our composts and believe we have a market leading product range, but we have often struggles to get noticed due to our limited capacity for marketing. We have recently decided to start trying to sell some of our products through Amazon (our Horse compost and Mushroom compost) as we have seen other people having success. We sell single bags of compost which in all honesty is impossible to compete with garden centres on price, this is due to the weight of the product and the cost/fees associated with this, but we can offer bulk deals on 25 and 50 bags, with this we can be competitive on price and its delivered to your door, which is a great benefit to many people. It would be great to know whether gardeners would be open to buying there bulk compost on Amazon. Amazon seems to sell everything these days so we thought this was our best option as we don't have the resources to create our own selling platform at the moment. Any feedback on this would be great. Thanks for your time.
