What Are You Doing This Saturday?

I just got through giving Izzi a bath, so now there is a high speed ball of red fur running around the house. I have a load of throw rugs in the washer. Tonight is the Colt's game and Mike will be over to watch it with Norm. I am going to bake them some brownies, make some ham sandwiches, have chips and I am going to my room! Can you tell I am not a sports fan :). I don't mind if others enjoy them though. It is about 32 and cloudy here today. The snow is slushy. I also want to mix up and have ready to bake a pasta bake for tomorrow. I will run the dishwasher in awhile as well as the Roomba. Nothing major planned for today. I am going to get my work done and then enjoy my "new" laptop. Maybe read some too. What do you have planned for your Saturday?

Same as monica...laundry. Sure wish I had a big front loader. Ah well, I should be thankful for the old relic I have. ha ha.

Hi Sara, Your concern over loose asbestos in the ever-popular Armstrong 5352 floor linoleum is reasonable; please know the felt was also part cellulose as I understand it. My main point tonight is that it takes a pretty hefty exposure and usually over time before high risk occurs. So containment would be the first step which you've already done by closing the basement door, and if feasible, not running the HVAC this weekend. For the tracking issue, a discardable damp mop sponge light mop of the kitchen floor to backdoor would help, perhaps proceeded by a dry Swifter (just no vacuum). Ensuring the little ones wear socks and shoes in the kitchen area sounds good. Then you can call the linoleum store owner on Monday and explain the situation and ask for a proper pickup of the remnants and clean up. The hardest thing might be the no heat (since your concerned it may have involved year heater). Perhaps a play date with a tent in the living room and some heat from your kitchen appliances or other might allow this misadventure to be turned into a fun time with mom.My kids loved camping out in our foyer. Slept in really late this morning, after being up late last night putting together a desk. Made "breakfast" for the kids, egg, rice, cheese & cabbage. Just put a chuck roast in the crock pot. Sola was going to make us a traditional New Years meal from Korea, but my kids are going to their dad's so that will have to wait till they come back tomorrow. Went grocery shopping yesterday, late in the evening and forgot a few things, including dog food. So, I have to go back after I finally shower. I also need to steam clean the living room carpet. I picked up a new dog, a foster dog named Chico Friday and he knocked over my cup of coffee last night. There wasn't room with all the desk pieces all over the place to do it last night, so Lauren just spot cleaned it. There's a big stain there now. Oh, speaking of Chico, we have renamed him Chewbacca because he looks just like Chewbacca from Star Wars. I don't like the name Chico either. He seems to like his new name too. ( : He's about 9 months old and is huge. He's part Golden Retriever and I think Chow. His head is huge and so are his paws. He's so sweet and was really shy and nervous at first but is now romping around the house. He slept in Lauren's room on her bed, along with Bushido (the cat) and our other dog, Emily. She said Chewy practically slept on top of her-lol. I'm already thinking of adopting him instead of just fostering him.

Well Eddie got me up early (6:15) to go potty and I tried til 6 :30 to convicne him it was saturday and we didn't need to get up....soooo I got up...LOL got ready to meet Syd at 10 to get her windows tinted got new brakes and rotors on my tahoe.....came home and B and I was going to Lowes and the neighbor called and he need B to help him pack up stuff at his dads house (he passed away a few weeks ago) So B went and did that so I sat at their house and polished their furniture and chatted with my friend til 3 and came home and have done nothing but try and organize my mil's bday next week...going to do the lowes thing tommorrow...Stacy

Hopefully taking a nap this afternoon.Have not been sleeping well due to back and leg pain/tingling.It has really gotten old.

Good morning, Sue.... I have 3 of my grandkids here plus another little one. They are crafting with ribbon, yarn and such on the floor. They love doing this. They spent the night. Mommy is in Flordia but due home this evening..
The youngest one wants to stay all night again tonight.

I fixed them breakfast and now I am going to go get a shower. I think we will bake cookies after while. I told them they can each take some home...

We will watch the Colts game tonight. We enjoy this.. I may do a little sewing while they play.. Sure hope they win....

As little as possible. I just finished reading The Book of Negroes and, after lunch, I'll probably fussy-cut some fabric for my next quilt. DH will be glued to the TV for the football playoffs so I am left all day to my own devices - Yay!!!!!

It's wet out, kinda cold, but not real cold. To wet to go for the bike ride, that was planned.

I filled my weekly pill box, ate breakfast, mixed a new batch of muesli stuff, and sat down to knit.

Don't like the way the hood on Allison's new sweater is coming out. Ripped it back out. No hood! I just made a neckband instead. Started to pick up the stitches for the front band, on the left. Still need to knit the right one, and sew the underarm and side seams. Then, I guess, back to the post office to mail it.

Not sure, yet what I will do today. I had my heart sat on going for a ride. Maybe take an extensive walk instead.

I have cabbage rolls in the crock pot, and I'm making sweet potatoes to go with them. Maybe I'll make rolls too. I'm going to make an apple pie later, but I'm popping it in the freezer to bake tomorrow. After I run to the store, I'm going to walk the dogs and then bathe them. Then I'm going to relax.

Just had a grandson walk in the door, so I guess I'll do something w/ him. We're going down to Wayne's cousin's for a fish fry and I've made cole slaw and Wayne's making a coconut pie. It's drizzly here but not too cold.

I like your optimism Glenda about ironing summer clothes!! Yea!

Mornin' all, it's a dreary day here with 75% chance of rain. I'd put off doing laundry while it was cold (the electric company's suggestion). But now that's all done. Took the valances down from our bedroom windows and will hang the new ones this afternoon.

I finally got around to making Glenda's fudge pie. Oh man, this house smells soooo good. It has to be the easiest dessert recipe ever! I had lots of peppermint stick ice cream left from the holidays (the only time you can buy it around here, so I hoard it) and thought they'd go good together.

Making ham and split pea soup for dinner tonight and have eggs boiled for toasted egg salad sandwiches to go with.

It's going to be a lazy day. We have another freezing fog alert today, do your weatherpeople come up with new words all the time to describe the weather? I thought it was snowing yesterday but nooooooooooooo ... the weatherwoman said it was SNOG ... when it's cold enough to freeze particles of fog and make it look like snow. And then a week ago, it was SNIZZLE ... Snow and Drizzle mixed together. I guess they think these cutesy words make it easier to tolerate winter weather!

Anyway, I've piddled away the morning, now we're heading to the grocery store. After that, a little nap will be in order since Saturday is my official NAP Day. LOL. Maybe read a bit this afternoon, and then I'll have to make some type of treats for the playoffs tonight. Our game is tomorrow evening, when the Cowboys play.

We're watching the WVU-Syracuse basketball game. Just had Domino's pizza delivered, not bad! It's partly sunny and about 50 here. Going out to get milk later, nothing much after that.

We have our holiday gathering for work this evening. It's just too busy during the weeks before Christmas for us all to get together so we have it now. We're going out for drinks and dinner then Glow In the Dark Mini Putt. It's all on our boss and we get to meet all the spouses or SO's and have some fun!
