gawdinfever, my soil tests cost $15 each and about $5 in shipping to the University of Maine soil testing lab. If you do a web search in MO, you'll find where your soil will need to go. If you are close enough you can avoid the shipping cost. When you consider how much money is spent on seed & fertilizer, getting a soil test is smart money.

Here's a pic of the Golden Pagoda cutting shown earlier. It has been potted up for about 34 days. And here's what I saw this morning in the bottle!!!! And here's the tips on the 2nd Goldilocks cutting that I received at the same time as the GP. No roots visible in the bottle yet but a little leaf action. Here is Goldilocks #1 that rooted over the winter: Here is the giant Mr. Ambassador cutting I got from Plumeria World also - I decided to re-cut the end because it was cut at a very severe angle so I'm trying to re-callous right now. That's a Kimi Moragne callousing in there with it. Here's a picture of the roots of a plant I repotted that I got as a CUTTING last year - this is a 5 gallon pot. I think this one is Loretta. Can you believe that root growth??? This one even got put in the garage for a little R&R.

Island - I may try to dig that oleander and leave it in the garage. I was just going to leave it because, once, again, it's loaded with scale and it also had gotten too big to drag in and out of the house. I sprayed it down yesterday, so I'll probably try and dig. Yardman - You sound the same as us. We are pretty clockwork with frosts right around Halloween here in Pittsburgh. As far as what stays and what goes, pretty much everything outside now (and in the pics) will stay out except I will dig the alocasias and maybe the cannas. I will be trying the butia and washie outside this year.

Oh, the poses are perfect! What cuties Eddie and Ivy are. Can I send my grandpuppy out to you for a picture taking session? There is no way we can get her to hold still like that.
