o.k. now that I read the reviews, I see that there are different prices for different cases. How irritating! Of course the one I want is $59. Double irritating.

Soooo, is the otterbox defender series the way to go? I'll keep looking if this is the recommendation from people in the know!

Are you the type of person that drops things a lot? Otter boxes are really tough, most workers use them because they can fall from high places and take pretty rough treatment. Plus they are big and kind of bulky. I would not want one at all because I like to slip my iphone in my back jeans pocket when I go out. I have a Mophie juice pack cover on my iPhone. It has a built in battery in it which makes my iPhone have battery power over twice what it normally would. I do a lot of different things on my phone during the day. I also have the kindle app on it so I can read while waiting somewhere. The mophie case is slim and I have no trouble with my phone fitting in my back jean pocket and the cover it tough. I have dropped my phone a few time on cement.
If you check out Mophie Juice Packs on Amazon and find a good price on one, go to Best Buy and they will match that price, If you don't want to have to order one. My husband also uses a Mophie Juice Pack on his iPhone. I have not looked at them lately to be able to tell you if they come with a charger or not but if not, the kindle charger fits the Mophie. Best buy has the chargers in two different place, up front by the cases and back in the back where the kindles are, no difference at all between the two chargers.

I prefer Speck cases. I think Otter box are too bulky as well. There are lots of different styles but the Speck case I go with is plaid and has a bit of a texture to it so it's grippy, not slippery. I've dropped my phone a couple of times and the case has saved it from damage. I paid $40 for the first Speck case I bought at a cellphone store and I got another one at WInners (Canada's version of TJ Maxx) for only $12 - identical case.

Do otterboxes fit the 5C? When I got mine 2 months ago they were not available yet. My screen shattered when I dropped my 4S with the speck. I am a very careful person and try to take care of my electronics, but it slipped out my hands when they were full. So I would have gotten an otterbox for the 5C. They are bulkier but you can drop them on their face and not shatter the screen, which is a problem for the iphones. I do love the longer battery on the 5, lasts for days now.

I would vote for the otter box case. They will replace your phone if it breaks while in the otter box case.

Otterbox cases are the best protection, you can find various prices, they do have a couple of models. My husband always has an Otterbox, I currently have a spec case they are also good but they do not cover the glass.
I am wanting an Otterbox for mine and found a great site that sells the real Otterbox but they have awesome colors and designs. You look up your phone model and then view the hundreds of options including adding your name on it. I want the black and white Paisley. Plus the cost is less than a plain Otterbox. I was told that Otterbox will replace the CASE, not the iPhone. Just checked via Google and read the same thing. I often find, even on Amazon, that one or two colors of an item are much cheaper than another color....go figure! I think I've ordered from that company at the link....and the shipping was SUPER SLOW. I think it actually came via a "slow boat from China" with a rather high shipping rate.

I've always used ifrogz cases - less than $10 at amazon. The otterboxes I've seen are just too bulky and not necessary in my opinion. I'm really careful with my phone but I have dropped it a few times on tile floors, parking lots, etc. and no problem. I carry my phone in my pocket all the time so there's no way I'd want a thick, bulky case.

that Brads deals is a great price however you must be sure it fits your particular iphone. It says it does not fit the 5c.
Reading the comments by others gives a few more details.
Does not work with the touch ID due to the silicone cover on the front.
But if it fit my phone I would buy a couple at that price. My niece has that pink real tree camo one and I love it. They do not make it for my HTC.

I saw the one on Brad's Deals, I was thrilled to find it at that price, til I read it didn't fit the 5c, booo.

I ordered a knock off from ebay for now. $6.68 and free shipping. If it's no good, at least I didn't spend too much. It has to be better than nothing.

I must be paranoid and overly careful. I had my other dinosaur phone for over 4 years, I could count on one hand how many times I dropped it. This doggone iphone has hit the floor once already in the 10 days I've had it!

More than likely I'll get another cell phone case but hopefully this will do til I can find a better one.
