Naples Florida Get Together

I figured I would start a new post.

The date has been set for February 10 at my Dad's house in Naples. I figured people could start arriving around 11AM. This would give us lots of time to gab and visit. If you have never been to one of these it is a blast with everyone talking and getting to know each other. We even get to talk about those that couldn't come. LOL

Instead of going to a restaurant we will send someone out to get food and split the cost. I am linking the original post to this one so you can read what I suggested for food choices. I also need to know what everyone wants to drink so I can have them available.

Would those of you who haven't contacted me please send me an email at runvswing@hotmail.com I would like to hear from you even if you won't be able to attend so I can be sure this gets out to all interested parties. When I hear from you I will give you all the information you need to contact my folks and me plus directions to their home.

So far we have Gazania and her DH and Sharon FL with her SO coming. Who else is thinking of coming?

Aprilflowers, did you get an email from msmarion? I know that most of the time folks don't get their emails through GW.

Mini Boo, I hope you will be able to come. Would be great to see you again. Please send me an email Barbara.

Carol, I hope you will be able to come. Do you have a friend that would be interested in coming? The more the marrier...who knows she might even become a new member of the KT.

Joan, I didn't know you were that far away. Sure would be great to see you both.

I'll be speaking with April later today. Hoping she might like to stay at my BFF's overnight. It's about 3 hours from here to Naples.
I'll email you when I know more.

Tom - I have to tell you that you inspired me with your vines growing up in your trees! I have a bleeding heart enchanted with a large crape myrtle and a passionvine developing an intimate relationship with a palm. Cuttings from a destroyed Naples, Florida monster tree!

Close up of leaf scars to help identification. I purchased and sprayed some fungicide/insect killer on the cuttings and let it dry before I packed them in the suitcase. I plan on reapplying it before trying to root them. Can I over apply it?? There was some rust on the leaves before I cut them off and I don't want it to spread to my other plants! Thanks! Jeff

Hi Lana, yes there is going to be 2 get togethers. The first one will be in Tampa on Feb. 7th. So far there is Mimi Boo, Sharon FL, Dances and myself. I know there are more people than that in the Tampa area but haven't heard anything from them. The second one will be over near Hobe Sound, which is North of Miami. I am hoping I can get in touch with April and Marion who live in that area. I am planning on driving over there for the day and Carol will ride with me. I also had hopes of meeting with Shequit (MK) while in Naples. She posted to one of my threads but I guess the email from the GW wasn't working. Hopefully she will write to me or give me a call on my cell phone which is the number she called me at last year. I didn't know that Summer and McCloud were going to Florida. I know that the temperatures have been down. If I had a bad back I think I would be flying instead of driving.

Nita, I certainly do appreciate the invitation, but I'm not sure what's waiting for me in Ft. Myers...I don't know what plans my friend has made...She loves to surprise me..She'll say, bring your passport and ID, but won't tell me what's going on...I just know, on Feb. 3rd. Now wait just a doggone minute. At the Tulsa gatherings, we never talked about anyone who couldn't come. Did we, ladies? :-)

Nita, I sent you an email but guess what, it was thru GW, lol, so I"m sure you probably didn't get it yet. I'll cut and paste and resend tomorrow, toooo tired tonight.

MsMarion was kind enough to contact me and I do think things will work out for us to get there together! I was supposed to call her today (I'm sooo sorry I didn't get to - you see what time it is that I'm posting, I *just* got home from WM and got the groceries put away and the b'fast casserole I'm taking to work tomorrow in the fridge) but I was too busy at work and didn't get the chance after work to call. But tomorrow is another (hopefully quieter) day :-)

YaY what wonderful news!!! I am so glad that you girls got it all figured out and you will be able to come. Please send me an email at the address that I added above. I never get anything through the GW and my I'm not getting my hotmail ones either.

Marion if you read this...thanks so much for contacting April. Would you also please send me an email so I can send you the information you will need to get to my Dad's.

I don't think I'll be able to get down there, dang it. I have been working on a trip to Key West for 2 years and some friends say they are going with us in March, and K doesn't want to do that drive twice.

I will be thinking of you guys and looking for pictures, though!

Wow, look at all of you! Two of my oldest and dearest boyfriends from my teen years live in the Naples area now. I wonder if one of you is married to one of them........! :-)

alisande - please come if you can. This is all so new to me. I have been addicted to the kitchen forum during our re-hab (a very long story) but during that time, I would lurk at KT and I am excited about meeting some KT folks.

Perhaps, alisande, we could do a little research re the "oldies but goodies" boyfriends and arrange a coincidental meeting -;)

I apologize for using GW names. I just have not yet got your realies into my 64 year old mind! And, I have heard it gets worse..........

Well, Alisande, only one is married. I don't know if you are. But if you are not and the other is not....... I can tell you lots of stories (true stories).

I will learn a lot, I am sure, and take notes, when I meet the KT ladies in FL.
