Making granola crunchier

I know there are those who say I couldn't get any crunchier, BUT . . . I'm going to try making some granola. I eat it very rarely and when I buy store bought it invariably goes stale on me. So I'm going to try and make it in small batches. I found this recipe on the "Eating Well" web site and I'd like to try it but I'm afraid it will not be crunchy enough for me, since it is probably "healthy" and low fat/calorie. I'd rather have it crunchy than low calorie, since I eat it in small quantities and only occasionally. Anyone know how I can doctor this up to make it crunchier? Also, can I sub wheat germ or oat bran for wheat bran. I am not a wheat bran fan! :)

8 cups rolled oats

1 cup wheat bran

1/2 cup chopped almonds

2 tablespoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground cardamom

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 cup apple juice

1/3 cup orange juice

1/3 cup lemon juice

1/4 cup canola oil

1/4 cup honey

1 1/2 tablespoons freshly grated orange zest, (about 1 orange)

1 tablespoon freshly grated lemon zest, (about 1 lemon)

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 cup raisins or dates, (optional)
