Yada yada yada,sounds about right.Wheres my data Bob.(Trane is a wanabee and Goodman is a contender)Lmfao, a typical jackleg answer..Check your facts again on Sears Bob and see how many goodman they sell a year.They sell more equipment in this country than any other company and the main percentage is goodman.If the new all aluminum evaporator coils are half as good as their outdoor coils it will be another great feature for Trane.Oh Im sorry if Goodman has no inovative designs are features,they just figured out how to paint their airhandlers and furnaces.You stick with your $2500. complete systems that takes 12 hr with 8 mexicans and leave the professional jobs to REAL professionals.Refresh my memory Bob ,when did Trane produce a all aluminum evaporator coil that failed quickly.I do remember Carrier had all aluminum coils that were crap.I installed the 1st 410a Trane system in my area a few years ago which has a aluminum condenser coil and would you believe it Bob its still going strong with no leaks.(100% percent replacement rate yearly)you should call the engineers at Trane and give them some insight on your genus Bob.I used to go into the Janitrol distributor for parts and see the piles of coils and compressors that where warranty returns and think either they have a unreal failure ratio or a whole lotta retarded jacklegs selling this stuff.I think it was both and I think your one of them Bob.Oh and leave 410a alone before you hurt yourself or someone else.

1.I would want to see a load calculation in writing for each zone. I question the sizing especially on the furnaces. 2. Keep in mind basements at or even partially below grade have a very low heating and cooling load 3.assuming you have no installation issues with outside venting, I would get a price on Carrier's 58MVC high eff furnace for the main floor/basement zone. 4.as far as heat pumps, you would need an analysis of your electric and at gas rates. 5. If you have humidity issues in the basement, you need to address the issue of why before trying to solve with dehumidifiers. 6. Dealer should address your temperature issue with the master bedroom with insulation check and ductwork size check. I will assume room is the opposite in the winter heating season. Windows are high quality? 7. I always prefer new and correctly sized refrigerant linesets. IMO

Well let's look at the dollars. Many systems don't last for more than 12 years. That would calculate to about $1500 per year for 12 years, to pay for the cost of a new TRANE, whereas, you pay $1000 this year and maybe another 1000 a year or so later. If you have a leak, then you may need a new coil (Because no one will spend the 3 hours to fix it) they will sell you a new coil, then spend 3 hours to install it. Questionable logic, but most common of all repairs. Peace of mind is worth something. I had a customer that claimed peace of mind was more important than money, but he always wanted a super low cost on all repairs. The TRANE 'new bid' will probably cost you $1500 per year for the next 12 years. It will need to be replaced before that time, or sloppy techs will force you to replace it sooner. The old junk is paid for. Replace the motor, contactor, caps every year, and you will never cost more than $1000. Even if the tech really hoses you. TRANE sells piece of mind, and claims to be the best. Why don't they sell more equipment than the lower quality systems? Because most people realize that TRANE is just a name put on the same components as sold by everyone. I have a very expensive touch screen thermostat that did not last 6 months, with a TRANE logo on it. To get warrantee, I need to show a sales receipt for the stat. I was the repair guy, not the installer. The stat was made by Honeywell and labeled by TRANE. If the stat did not have the logo on it, Home Depot would sell me a new one for 1/3 of the list price TRANE uses. I could return it without any problems. Instead, it sits on my desk as a reminder of what a company can do to its customers. You wonder why I don't like some manufacturers. This is the reason. I have an account with TRANE that I can use. It is inactive this year so far. The same as I have an account with Goodman. It was inactive until a couple of weeks ago. The Carrier account is the one we use this year. But not to confuse the issue, all manufacturers are hardnosed on their branded product. Many warrantees never happen, because of crappy return policies. Today I am looking at a $360 stat labeled by TRANE. Now for the good news; I can return the stat maybe, if I cheat and lie to TRANE. I try to never lie or cheat, so I guess the stat will be a constant reminder why I don't care for TRANE.

Thanks Mike. The first time they replaced the compressor, I paid just the $300 labor charge as they said the unit was under warranty. The second replacement was completely free of charge. Most of the freon adds I paid for, I think one was free. I have resisted going somewhere else so this company wouldn't be able to tell me that some other place damaged my equipment. I think it might be time to move on, but I want to be more educated before this cylce continues much longer.
