Radiant Heating / Forced Air AC. Please help.

I'm building a house and am thinking about going with underfloor radiant heating using pex and heat transfer plates under the subfloor. I might use masonry filler in bathrooms and the kitchen where there will be tile.

My question is this. One of the advantages I see to using radiant heating is being able to avoid the ductwork in the basement that would feed the first floor. So is it possible and acceptable to install the radiant heating system for heat and then install an air handler (or 2) in the attic to handle both floors and just drop ducts from the attic thereby avoiding the large ductwork in the basement that leads to headroom loss. Thoughts?
