Here is my about me. My birthday is in July but since it was taken already by the originater of the robin, I am the APRIL person. It was the nearest month left open and works out nicely because it was my mother's birthday month. My favorite color is blue and I do have a preference for blue flowers. I love Iris, and have been adding a lot of Siberian Iris to my gardens the last year.But really I love about anything that is blooming. I am adding a "fairy garden" to an area outside my bedroom that has sun and shade areas. I am trying to add plants with fairy in the name or with bell shaped flowers as well as fairy statues. I have also added several clematis to my garden last year and am waiting to see how they turn out. I am also working on a garden of pink flowers for my little 1 year old granddaughter. I love bulbs, spring,summer or fall flowering. It is very very hot and dry here in the summer and we have alkaline clay soil. I like decorative socks, bird houses, garden ornaments of about any kind, chocolate,and love to read gardening books and magazines. And since some are talking ages, I will be the big 50 this year and loving every minute of it.

One of the coolest hints received when I started using my scale was to use the "tare" command. For instance, put a bowl on the scale and press tare; add 7 grams of salt, press tare (which returns the weight to zero); add 454 grams of flour, press tare; add 65 grams of sugar, press tare; and so on without ever bothering to empty the bowl!! This method is really simple and a significant time saver when you are measuring or weighing several dry ingredients that will be combined immediately anyway. It is especially good to weigh flour. You can be consistent and don't have to worry about not compressing it and getting to much into your cup measure. Have fun with your scale. I still smile when I get mine out which I always do when I make bread or any other baked goods. That whole procedure is so interesting. Just think of all the people back in the day who would have given anything to be able to benefit from today's science. I feel guilty for having the ability to get pregnant and have a great pregnancy. I had 6 children, 2 daughters and four sons. I felt so good when I was preggers that I was considering carrying a child for someone who may not be able too. I am 71 now, I guess it is too late for that. I pray you will be able to conceive and carry a sibling for Grant. Vique.
