Steph...how's Grant doing?

I hope he's feeling better. It hit my oldest son and Ricky 2 nights ago. He and Ricky were in DS's room for hours together playing video games and watching movies on Friday..by the next morning they were both sick. They are over it now though. Didn't last long. Also how are you feeling....it's almost time for his little sister to arrive! Hope all is going ok, I know how anxious you must be feeling.

maybe steph is busy?? Baby girl Camryn is supposed to be coming this week I thought? The 22nd if I remember??

Hi! Kids are recovered, finally. Camryn went to bed really early the night of her party but she slept lousy. She was overtired and overstimulated. Grant was so tired but completely wound up until about 9pm, then crashed. Last night, both kids went to bed at 6:15 and slept about 14 hours each, pretty much all night. They were catching up. Now it's my turn! :-)

Since these cabinets have sentimental value to them, there's no way that I would do a kludge fix to them like gel staining. Gelstaining is for someone who is selling and moving. It's not really staining, and in fact obscures the grain pattern of the wood because of the high solids content. It's a work-around for cheap cabinets, not a solution to at all be considered for someone in your situation with something well made and sentimental to you. Treat them like fine furniture. I would take off the doors, number them, and find a local furniture refinisher who has a dip tank. Have the finish removed and then have them properly restained and finished with a catalyzed varnish. You can work on the frames yourself to save a little money, but have the refinisher do the staining and finishing for your so everything matches.

Hi Judy, thanks for thinking of me! I'm doing good. The time is actually going by kinda fast so far, but I've been out of town since Saturday so I'm sure that helps. I have my little countdown clock on my desktop though, the numbers seem to be moving slow though! ;-)

Ahh, thank you for asking. He goes home tomorrow and I'm sad. He's a great dog. I've really enjoyed having him here. But... My mind has been playing some tricks on me. He looks and acts so much like my Dakota, it's been really freaking me out. It's so hard to explain but it's like I'm taken back in time to when she was alive and I feel like I'm reliving those times, like she never left. I get happy then I get a huge amount of grief. So while I've really enjoyed his company and having a dog around, it's also made me really sad. He's just too much like her. Grant has loved having him around. Camryn really doesn't care much. He's been great with the kids. Here's a picture of Grant on the couch playing with my phone, with his buddy beside him.

I hope things are ok...maybe they are at their lake house for the long weekend.

Hi! Thanks for asking about us.

Grant is fine. He was just hit with that flu bug Tuesday and he's been fine since. Back to his normal, cheerful self. :-)

I'm doing good. I got a burst of energy a couple days ago and have just been running around running errands and "nesting". I feel pretty good.

Yes, Teresa, the 22nd is the big day. I'm not sure what time I go in; I wont know until the evening before but I'll let you all know.

My mom will contact either Lori (Lori_in_Utah) or Laura (junebugs) after Camryn gets here and they'll post here for me.
