Vickey, fabulous job as usual! I also like the addition of the ruffle yarn to the outfit. Are you still knitting backwards instead of purling? chinacat_sunflower, socks are NOT hard. If you can't manage double points, do you use circulars? Google magic loop method. If you were close to me, I could teach you. I never use double points any more. Just circulars. You can also use two circulars to make socks. Tami

MsMeow, I am 65 and I started knitting (self taught) as a teenager. Needless to say, I am pretty set-in-my-ways. I did 3 more rows last night all with the continental method, and it is getting better. I did settle on a way of holding the yarn that is a "combo" of suggestions. My hand is not cramping anymore, because I am relaxing more. Using the old method (throwing the yarn) took me about 20 min to do one of these long rows. I have the continental method down to about one hour for a row LOL! I think it is going to work, but I still need to look carefully at every move, so the eye strain is a bit of a pain. It is definately a better way to knit! Oh, I also got the twist out of it. I had been putting the yarn on the wrong side of the "poking" needle. I have only been doing the "KNIT" stitch, so I still have the "PURL" to conquer!

LOL, I know my memory is bad, but I'm sure I've mentioned who I am. Yup, still stuck on this little island. I thought you knew it was me when you asked about the fabric that time (btw without mentioning it to my mom she brought back almost the same dog pattern fabric). I remember others but can't remember their user names. I'll try to post more but it seems as if life gets busier as you get older.

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to chime in. Last year I was bugged by a pajama top with sleeves that kept riding up my arms, leaving them chilly. I finally took an old pair of athletic socks and a slit at each toe end. I slipped them on each arm and my wrist was nicely covered where the pj sleeve rides up. I wasn't sure what my permanent solution would be, not having found any rib knit fabric at my local fabric store to sew onto the sleeve ends. I saved those socks and am using them again this year, but it finally occurred to me like a couple others here on the forum that I could use old socks I have on hand at home, or see what I could find in a thrift store. My white socks aren't a good color match for my pjs, so I'll check our rag bag to see if there's a better match in there. I might even try to make this work for pj bottoms too.
