Today I sprayed 4 gallons of Certainty on POA annual and trivialis . I also pulled about 20-30 pounds of POA with a weedhoundÂÂBelow are pics from todays adventure. Death to POA!!!!!! I do have a few questions on getting my lawn back to shape. IÂll address these with the pictures below. Picture of last weekendÂs Cretainty Spraying the POA is just starting to turn brown after 7 days. Here is a picture of using Round Up (M1 shmosh technique with a glove wet with round up). This area is new groth from my fall seedingÂÂ.its 90 percent PAO. I sprayed it down today with Certainty. Here are some divots from pulling the POA with a weedhound. There is still some POA left in this area. Will this Divot heal properly with new KBG? Here is the POA from the Divots aboveÂÂ Some more POAÂ.. This area is from the fall seeding alsoÂ..again 70-80 pecent POA. I also sprayed this area today with CertaintyÂÂ..Will the KBG come back? Some POA hiding in KBG Some more POA hiding Death to POA (weedhound extraction) Is this area worth saving (2 pics)ÂÂ.Is there enough KBG to Come back after the Certainty does it thing? IÂm thinking hard about replacing the sod in this area with new KBG from a local sod farm. Dead POA pile and very big divotÂÂ.IÂm going to fill this divot with a piece of sod. So when can I put down some more Pre M.....? I wonder how much KBG I actualy have left in my lawn? Happy POA hunting to ALL.........Death To POA!

The red diamonds in my backsplash are glass and I really like the effect. The other tiles are a bit off-white, and I think they match the cabs, I've never noticed. lol I have orb for some of the hardwared, and ruby colored pulls and knobs on the hutch which is in the kitchen. I also have an orb faucet whith white sink. White appliances. The appliances are whiter than the cabs, but its not noticeable. As far as the granite. That's a hard one to answer. Take every single thing off the countertop and I love my granite. But that color of granite is so hard to accesorize with it's driving me crazy! However, I recently discovered pale yellow, white, and light vintage green looks wonderful on the granite. My walls are a very pale yellow. Black accessories are good too, but I want more pastels in my kitchen. It only took me three years to figure out that pastels really look best with the granite and white cabs!

I think you may be missing some opportunities on your main level. Your current living room seems very disconnected from the rest of the house - its more like a formal parlor rather than a family gathering space. A passage from Christopher Alexander's "A Pattern of Language" describes what I'm seeing: "If a common area is located at the end of a corridor and people have to make a special, deliberate effort to go there, they are not likely to use it informally and spontaneously. Alternatively, if the circulation path cuts too deeply through the common area, the space will be too exposed, it will not be comfortable to linger there and settle down. The only balanced situation is the one where a common path, which people use every day, runs tangent to the common areas and is open to them in passing. Then people will be constantly passing the space; because the path is to one side, they are not forced to stop. If they want to, they can keep going. If they want to, they can stop for a moment, and see what's happening; if they want to, they can come right in and settle down." Maybe your goal is to keep the living room a quiet space - which is okay. However, in the sketch below you can see how the living room (and the fireplace/hearth) becomes the core of the house. Centering the living room also benefits other spaces- now you get a glimpse of the views to the northwest from the kitchen and the dining, and in the living room you get a bit of the early morning and midday light coming in from the east and south. With windows in the stairwell wrapping the fireplace and a pair of french doors on axis with the front door, you essentially have light coming in on all four sides of your living space. This arrangement would also be nice for entertaining - even though the kitchen and living are distinctive spaces, you can still hold a conversation with family or guests in the living room while you're preparing meals. Making the center of the house one room deep stretches the overall north/south footprint, but according to your site plan above, you have a decent amount of space on either side of your existing design until you reach the setbacks. Making the house narrower and longer will also help in arranging bedrooms upstairs. My only other comment would be about your wrap around porch. Aesthetically, especially on a corner lot, this is a nice touch. But you have to ask yourself, how much of that 50' porch are you actually going to use? Personally, I'd focus on a larger, non- wrap around porch that is deep enough to have a furniture arrangement that encourages conversation. It might be a bit too deep in the sketch. I suppose I should have posted back in "Anyone want to design my house?" but better late then never, right? Hope this helps!

I wouldn't go with a plain fabric but something such as what Jodie White posted on the right - something with some texture or as kelleg69 suggested, a geometric pattern that is a tone on tone. You also really need to think long and hard about how you feel about colour. If you do like colour you could try a yellow/grey pattern or an aqua/grey or cherry red/grey (ok that might be a little out there). Do you have some ideas as to what colours you will have as an accent in towels, mats, etc.
