She got a play makeup kit for Christmas (which I'll be replacing because it has such a gross feel and doesn't come off!) and we did each other's makeup last night.

Don't we look beautiful? :)

More answers -- sorry if I don't know all the lingo: pharoah - I'd heard of starphire glass, but wasn't interested. I'm all about green, and having a greenish tinge to my glass was fine with me. skogkatt - the cabinet is only 12 inches deep (it's 24 inches wide, so not really able to be set between studs). We have a large linen closet in our upstairs hallway, and another in our bedroom, so those combined with the storage in the new vanity are more than enough for us. codnuggets -- yes, we have both a rain head and a handheld. Each has it's own valve and temp/volume control, so we don't have a diverter. It was a bit of a splurge, but I wanted the option of running both heads at the same time. Believe me, this was one of the more difficult decisions we had to make, since I knew so little about the technical stuff.

Renofan - You did a fantastic job on that chair, and I think you should go ahead and do the little chair in the yellow toile, too. That's the fabric that I used to make my bedroom duvet and curtains, (the thread is "I've got the blues...thanks to you"). You'll find that this fabric is very reasonably priced, yet a good, sturdy fabric to work with. I also used the yellow duck ticking fabric from the same site, FashionFabricsClub.com. Wouldn't you know I have 4 wingback chairs that are in excellent condition, but all have old fabric on them that I can't stand. Two of them, in fact, resemble what your wingback looked like before. Thanks to you, and the website that you furnished on upholstering, I now know what project I plan to tackle next! I know I'll never match your speed or expertise in these projects, but at least I can make an attempt. Your motivation inspires me to get my butt off this chair and start searching for more fabric. Now I can't wait to see your little toile chair, and if you ever need to find a home for it once it's done, I have a bedroom that would love to adopt it....lol! Beautiful job!! Heidi

I thought I posted on this earlier today. Maybe that was when my DH removed the toilet from the master bath and walked past me with it. I got distracted. Patio is really looking good. bellsrus, I did report this business to the BBB, but the crook responded by saying something unbelievable like, "Customers cancelled the order and asked to get their money back. They are getting a refund within 10 days of cancellation". LIES, LIES, LIES. Anyway, since we had just gotten our money back when the BBB response came, we did not know what else to do. Sadly, his record on the BBB shows that the matter is resolved, but does not provide any details of our complaint. The trustee who was assigned to the crook's personal bankruptcy case (he apparently declared personal bankruptcy, not as a corporation) is aware of what happened to us and was instrumental in getting us our money back. I am not sure if the trustee can do anything about it or if he has any power to shut the guy down. While we were looking at our options, I called the state attorney's office who said to call the police and report the guy for fraud; however, when I called the police, they refused to take our statement saying that we should take this matter to civil court. Sigh....I get angry thinking about all of this! I don't know who/where the crook got the money from to pay us back. I do want to protect other people from the anguish we experienced. Besides the BBB and Angie's List, I am not sure what else to do....It's quite sad....

Brings back a lot of memories.....My kids used to "make me beautiful" all the time...Then came my grandkids...They thought that was lots of fun too...Wonder if, when Leliah is old enough to, I can get beautiful again...LOL...not much hope in the beauty part.

We did have fun. We always have a lot of fun together. I enjoy all my kids and our time together so much! I know that our job as parents is to guide our children, love them, teach them, instill morals and values and give them the confidence and skills that they'll eventually need for independant life, but sometimes I wish I could just freeze time and keep them little forever!

Sigh.

(And we did do nails too!)

HA! No, she's never really resembled her dad at all. She's always looked a lot like me. Benjamin (our 4 year old) looks a good bit like Claude, but Oliver (1) looks more like me.

I have pictures of me as a little kid, looking for all the world like Sophie. I should dig them out, scan them and post a comparison sometime.

HAHA! I didn't even remember that. I must have posted that over 5 years ago. I just rooted through a drillion pictures to see if I could find Sophie with lipstick across her forehead, and sure enough....

I used to give my mom facials when I was Sophia's age. How she evver stood all the guck, I'll never know. She put up with a lot as I had no brothers or sisters to pester.
