Jannie, I hope you will check-in and let us know how your first night at home was. I hope you were available to get a lot of sleep, and are feeling well this morning.

You need to rest and take it easy for a while. There are a lot of prayers coming your way from your KT family! Hugs!

Today is Thursday, I've been home 3 days now. Wonderful to be in my own home, if not my own bed. I'm staying in my daughter's old bedroom, where I have satellite TV with 900 channels, a phone and a full Kindle. Slept so good Tuesday night. Watched a little TV, turned it off about 11, next thing I knew it was 4 am. Five hours solid sleep. In the hospital, they keep the lights on and come in constantly to "check" on you. It is fabulous being home. My 2 daughters hav e taken over all the household chores. I've been getting phone calls from friends, relatives and my old job-mates. It's fun being so popular! I go back to the hospital tomorrow for my first check-up. MY darling daughter will be driving me. This morning I went outside for a walk around the block. I am feeling great!

What wonderful news! What a blessing that you have your daughters to help you and DH. Good luck tomorrow with your check-up. You are in my prayers.

After my friends husband died she eventually changed phone servers. When she received a deposit refund check she could not cash it because he made the deposit on the phone and it was made out to him. They would not change it to her name. Finally one of the bank tellers told to just deposit it and see if would go through and it did. Who was going to complain?

Another Garage door question!

I have moved into a two garage door house. One garage door needs work and has a remote to it, the other one does not have a remote. Until I can get the other door repaired I would like to use the remote on the other door. Both are craftsman garage door openers. The model # on the garage door opener is 41A3493-1, and the model # on the remote is 139.53879, it has three buttons on it small at bottom, medium in the middle, and large oval at the top. How can I transfer the garage door opener remote? Hope someone can help! Thanks for your help!!!!

Jannie makes a good point. There is a difference to watch for on the products dating. I pay particular attention to deli and bakery items. I got tired of getting stale rolls. I understand how it happens. Times are tough for retail now too. Stores have a labor budget and that's probably been cut significantly over the last decade. Stock SHOULD be rotated when put up, but there's a lot of variables. If someone is in a hurry, they'll stock and not rotate. Or in the back room things might not get rotated. And occasionally customers shuffle things while they're looking for just the right pumpkin pie. Also, on certain things, manufacturer reps are responsible for rotation so there's another variable on when they're in and how well they're doing their job. And of course, yes, often the stores do not get credited for outdated things so they'd naturally like to sell it if possible and preferably at full price rather than a markdown. There too, they have a budget margin to stay within for spoilage. Most will walk a tight line to keep numbers acceptable and the bottom line more conducive to a bonus. Caveat emptor.

Yesterday, my older sister called me and said that she could help me out financially if I needed to. That calmed me down with the addition of all your comments. It shows that you care and I thank you for all of your thoughtfulness. It's been a busy Monday. A few years ago when I was able to work, I had the energy and strength but no time. Now that I no longer can work, I have time but no strength & energy. That's how it normally goes, doesn't it? Anyway... Yes, of course I called SSA. The SSA agent knew exactly why I was calling. He said that I was not alone in freaking out, many did too. With his first call about this notice, he even had a hard time understanding the letter. He had the caller reading the notice several times in order to understand and explained it correctly. He sympathized with me and wished that the letter would have been wording more clearly. The SSA agent explained that all notifications they send out is for the following month or future payments. Therefore, the current month payment is not effected. Phew! Looks like, I wasn't the only one to receive and didn't understand the notification. It wouldn't have been so bad if I received the notice during the weekdays and not having to sit on it throughout the weekend. Well, it's over now. No need to dwell on it. Thanks again for all the comforting words.

Thank you everyone for your healing prayers. I feel your prayers and my own Mother's hand in this. She passed away Jan 15 2011. I was in the hospital on the one-year anniversary . Please keep up your prayers. I love you all right back!

Glad you are feeling good! We have a policy at our hospital now that we have to do hourly checks on patients. Which means going into the room and initialing paperwork at the bedside. No way for patients to sleep.

Went for my first office visit. Told me I'm doing well, my kidney function is near normal today Friday. Exactly a week since the transplant. Also told me I need to "train" my new kidney by drinking 2 quarts of liquid a day. Also NO SALT, no canned soups, no fast food, etc. And I have to go back again Monday for another checkup. Warned it takes a full year to completely heal, so take it easy. My excuse to take it easy.
