That happened to me a few times with my old coffee pot. The best was the day I opened the silverware drawer and found it full of coffee. It had run over and one of the kids cleaned up the counter and floor but didn't think of looking inside. That's the day I threw it away.

So I'm grateful for my new coffee maker which has never (knock on wood, no jinxes here) spilled over.

I'm grateful my checking account balanced perfectly with minimal time for a change. If it is off by even a few cents, it makes me nuts until I find my error, but I always find it.

Again the temps are mild and above average today. No heat was even needed last night here in southern Indiana, which is very abnormal for Jan.

Microfiber rocks! And I'm grateful to the KT and other GW forums for telling me about microfiber cloths. I bought my first ones in the automotive aisle at Walmart, but my favorites are the big yellow ones I got at Sam's Club (also in the car aisle, I believe). Reasonably priced, and I use them for everything.

Also grateful that the rejection I received on a short story was accompanied by a nice, handwritten, complimentary note from the editor. Yeah, I know it's still a rejection, but there are rejections and there are rejections! :-)

I had one of those "stop and cement this into my memory" times last night and I sure am grateful for it! The GDs and I were in the kitchen last night making caramel popcorn and dancing to Kenny Chesney's "Don't Blink". I listened to the words of the song and looked at those girls and it was one of those "if I could just stop time right now" moments. One is 11 and the other is 7 and they're old enough to be a lot of fun and still young enough to think that Mamaw is kewl! LOL

mcmann, my silverware is in another area of the kitchen, but I'm sure glad the coffee didn't get into the drawers like it did one other time. Nothing worse than a drawer full of wet taters.

Ya Ya, you made me bawl this morning. I'm going back to work. (OH - but it was a good bawl! One of those "feel good" kind!)

I'm sure the occasion will always be one they will remember and treasure, even if/when the time comes when they may not consider Mamaw so kewl.

I'm grateful that the residents of the Home were well enough today for them to take down the 'enter at your own risk' sign. Plus, both Annie and I are both well enough so I could visit. Gee, even the weather is still cooperative....very nice and sunny so far today.

Shirley, there has been an awful lot of "crud" going around here lately. My sis spent all of Monday night in the bathroom sitting on the throne and hugging a trash can. Stay healthy!
