Moni what are those big cones?

Fabulous pictures today. Wow to them all!

The big cones are "Wundertueten". They are filled with small goodies, like what other peeps put in stockings, but mostly candy.

My family was rather poor, and to this day I am surprised we did get the photo taken. The Wundertueten were just handed to us for the picture. None of us five kids had one on the first day of school.

Neat log house in Richardson's Grove State Park in California. Visited here one summer. Park is full of majestic redwoods:

I also enjoy old pictures, Moni, love your picture of you and sis. Linda, they are a handsome pair. I would like to know what year both pictures were taken. Thanks for sharing.

Ronm80 I don't really know when the picture was taken but I think they were born in the 1830s or 1840s. He was from West Virginia and she was born somewhere in Ireland. I don't know anything else about them. Mama had this picture hanging on her wall and my Aunt asked me to take a picture of it so she could have a copy. It's not a great original since it's so old and would disintegrate if taken out of the frame.

Love all of today's pictures.

Must have been 1960, as I started school in 60. :)
