Nope, I think I read about 6 pages in my book before I fell asleep. Woke up, turned off the light and went back to sleep, didn't even look at the clock! Happy New Year everyone. May 2009 bring you peace and happiness.

Gas I grew up with a gas stove and when I got married we had an electric and I was always burning things and boiling things over. I couldn't remember I had to remove a pan quickly instead of just turning off the burner. When we moved from Our first home and had to get a new stove I went to gas. Won't have it any other way.

Was going to say when my grandson was small and they had those big pieces, 6 and you were done. Must have been 3 years ago when we had a puzzle that came on the top of the Christmas popcorn tin. I tried to finish it, no one would help so it got put in a plastic bag, put inside the washed popcorn tin and taken to the thrift shop. There, done, brushing off my hands. I can do counted cross stitch all day, but have no patience for jigsaw puzzles.

Not that I can recall. The Bataan Death March ... and the years following ... was hell for those who went through it. When I went to Korea, in `53, just over 10 years later, we left Los Angeles by freighter and travelled on the Great Circle route, far north of Hawaii (put a string on a globe) ... for 18 days out of sight of land ... which gives one direct proof of how large the world is. As we approached the Phillipines, a typhoon was building and we went down the west side of Luzon, then turned in to 30-mile long Manila Harbour ... so the first sight of land that I had in the Orient was ... Corregidor, the rocky island fortress at the outer end of the harbour ... where the last surviving U.S. Army people holed up, following the Japanese invasion. It made a major impression on me that, apart from the results of World War II, we could not have been in that part of the world, helping people develop a better life. Had our ship been in those waters, ten years earlier ... we`d have been sunk ... or interned! And much of our work originally, just after the Korean War, was helping people who had left their home areas as refugees, as a result of political divisions and war, with nothing but the clothes on their backs, as they tried to get their lives back in some kind of order ... in an area much of which had been badly battered, fought over 3 or 4 times. Not a pleasant experience. Let us commit ourselves to seeking ways to build bridges of understanding between peoples, rather than warfare. Yes, we were at a friends house and they set off fireworks in their back garden.

I heard it, someone let off fireworks I guess, but I had my eyes closed. Said "rabbits, rabbits, rabbits, Happy New Year, honey" and went back to sleep.

It's an exciting life we lead around here, yessirree!

Oh yes, Jammer and I were awake. We kissed to see the new year in and then talked about how surprised we were that we were able to stay up till midnight. LOL Then we went to bed.

Yep, Dogs woke me up too when the fireworks started. Then some idiot set off fireworks at 1:00 AND 2:00. I guess they finally went to bed or passed out since it didn't happen again. I was all set to call the cops if it happened at 3:00. I was already sleeping in the recliner so I could breathe with this stupid cold so I was really annoyed.

Yep, my nephew was over for the night, so he and I stayed up and watched 2009 arrive in New York, then Malakoff. DH went to bed about 10:30.

Yes--first time in years. We don't care for champagne so we brought in the new year with Bailey's Irish Creme. Much better! I guess we were both zonked out by 12:20!!

Yes, but not really by choice. DH had his surgery yesterday and was up every couple of hours!And of course fireworks make the 5 dogs go bonkers.....

Yes,sure did.
Went to a party at my cousins just up the street.We had a fantastic time and set off fireworks at midnight which most of the neighbors did also.Got home about two in the morning,was up again at 8 since i have cousins comming over for dinner.I'll be more than ready to crash when they leave though!

Yes and checked all of my Cable TV stations and Texas did not ring in the new year no coverage of any
Texas celebrations anywhere. I even sent off an irate email to the Texas 24/7 news channel complaining. Who cares about NYC all night? not me
