I have a gas stove.

Electric. I thought I wanted a gas stove once. Got one, and wound up giving it to my daughter after about 6 months.

Gas,open burners,love it.

I got both. While living in Tulsa, I got a gas stove, and piped gas to it. I intended to take out the center island, with the cooktop. Never got around to it, and thus, just took my stove with me.

Now here, at this house, is an electric cook top. As soon as the other house is sold, and we have money again, LOL, I will get gas piped in, and the counter cut, cabinet taken out, and gas stove put in.

Can't wait...

I have an electric (smooth top) now. I've had gas in the past, although most of my life I've had electric. They both have their benefits and their drawbacks. I can cook happily with either :-)

Electric. I've never had a gas stove and wouldn't want one.

Electric smooth top. Landlord just put it in the day before Thanksgiving. So nice to have something that works! I will admit I miss my gas stove though. I brought it with me from California but ended up trading it for a big freezer.

Gas, always! I consider electric stoves to be an exercise in frustration.

I prefer gas, but hubby doesn't trust them so I've got electric. (sometimes ya just gotta compromise)

Would prefer gas, better heat control...but we would have to run gas line from other end of the house, so I caved.

I have never used anything but electric, so have nothing to compare. The gas grille scares me!

Gas, gas, gas. Never electric....been there, done that years ago (as a renter in my early years), and I wouldn't do it again if you paid me good $$$ LOL. Different strokes.

Electric but would love to switch to gas. Maybe when this stove needs replacing.

Gas I grew up with a gas stove and when I got married we had an electric and I was always burning things and boiling things over. I couldn't remember I had to remove a pan quickly instead of just turning off the burner. When we moved from Our first home and had to get a new stove I went to gas. Won't have it any other way.

I love my gas stove. I can adjust the height of the flame so easily. And if I need something heated fast-like water for coffee, you can't beat gas. I grew up with my Mom's electric stove and it took so long to heat up!

I've had gas which is nice when the electric goes out but I hate lighting a burner or the oven so prefer Electric

Ours is gas. I wouldn't mind an electric oven (because electric ovens allegedly do a better job of self cleaning), but will never consider anything but gas for the burners.
