My DD's "golden" will be on the 16th. I guess that should be fun. ;o) My boys will be 19 and 20 (the other was 3). I've heard of the golden, but only from others. No first hand experience.

For those of us who have birthdays early in the month (mine is the 3rd) the golden birthday idea isn't a big deal. We have already had ours back when we were toddlers or preschoolers. Now I did think it was neat the year I turned 54 because I was born in the year 54.

I was 12, I didn't know anything about golden birthdays.

Caryn had her Golden on her 9th, I made her a big pin and made cake for her class room. Kalie has been waiting ALL these years for HER pin!!! Yes, Mama did make Kalie one too....but no baked cake for her work. :(

Never heard of such a thing. I hope your daughter had a fun 23rd birthday.

My noteworthy birthdays (to me at least) were the years my children were exactly half my age. I was too busy with newborn DD to even think about a "golden" birthday. She was actually due on that day but arrived a week early. I'd never heard of this either.

I've heard of it, but never knew anyone that celebrated it. Like someone else said if your birthday is early in the month, it wouldn't be as much fun. DD's is on the 25th so when that year comes around I will have to remember to do something special.

I'm another who's never heard of this golden thing, but I think it's kinda cool.
