Our Division Chief committed suicide this past weekend and we found out yesterday morning. My direct boss hired him as a fellow many moons ago and mentored him through thick and thin, up to and including, nominating him to succeed my boss as Division Chief a couple of years ago. Always smiling, caring, Jason talked to eveyrone. It didn't matter if you were the cleaning person or a Vice-Chancellor, he called you by name, knew your children's names, your hobbies/interests, and cared more about us than himself. He was a practicing physician who cared about his pateints. He ran every day and tried to get everyone on else on the health wagon. He started programs and kept them going for physician-scientists and made sure the diagolue among senior faculty, junior faculty, student, staff members was open and continuous. He was the oil for the wheel we call home. And he could teach. Boy, I'd go to any class he taught. Well spoken, fast thinking, and enganging. Loved his way. No one would have ever believed he would do this. Ever.

Flowergirl - Autumn Jewels and and Desperado Love do have flowers that are similar colors. Both are descended from El Desperado. I grow all three because I like that color combo. AJ and DL have different shaped blooms, different sized blooms, different scape heights, and different bloom times. AJ has a 6-inch bloom on 40-inch scapes and is a late bloomer. DL has a 5-inch bloom on 26-inch scapes (it's 29 inches here) and blooms midseason. Chris - Mantis is right. Bullfrog Kisses was hybridized by Frank Smith. The Trimmers have a general listing with newer daylilies hybridized by others on it. I wanted to add more Frank Smith daylilies because I've had such good luck with American Doll and I Remember You. So I bought Bullfrog Kisses and Patsy Cline from Watermill, along with four of Trimmers intros because the prices were the best I could find on the Smiths. Debra

o.k. here are some of what I have. Some of this are my husbands ambitious doings, o.k. so don't think I am all the crazy one... we have spent so much in the years of marriage only for one year to be too dry and one year to be too wet. We are on well water and you know how that goes.. Our well is deep, but we are still very careful. I am going to ask dh to plant roses deep and cover. Joseph's coat rose forth of july rose blaze rose collection of climbing rose? dream weaver?? face cascade(cant read it) rose america Clematis(my doing) armadii jackmannii helleborus asters wigelas hydragenas hibicius There are several of these we ordered not just one or two. That is it Oh, and stuff for our garden..but he got that from local nursery. I wish he hadn't done that. I would have rather gone to the freezer counter at the store this year. I am feeling over whelmed. We have a big yard and this is our last project. It just never gets done! Thanks for your advice. I will hobble around and get busy.

If you could see yourself in the future, would you like to? Be the happiest person on earth! What specific feature do you have about you that makes you unique? Not SO unique.... but I am very short and some say tiny! Would you get an autograph from someone famous even if you don't like them? Sure, but would not have it made to me personally....just dated. Who knows there may be someone I know who likes that person. Were you ever been told that life wasn't fair? Sure, but I honestly feel we are "dealt a hand of cards; it is how YOU play them for the best results in life." Would you rather be unspoiled, a little spoiled, or really spoiled? Most definitely "SPOILED"! Like the Loreal commercials..."I am worth it"!

It was -29 this morning! Then the thermometer dropped to
-30.
High is predicted for -14 I think.
Cripes now I hear the airport in Bismarck recorded -40 this morning!!!!!

It was -2 when I got up and is -1 now. We're supposed to hang in there around 0 all day. Not so bad, considering the temps is so much of the northern part of the country. I'm on the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michigans UP - the very most northern tip that sticks out in Lake Superior. The lake gives us lots of snow but keeps us a 'little' warmer.

12 F this morning with an awful wind chill.
22 for a high. We have an inch of snow so I am hoping the driveway is clear soon. I shoveled 2 paths down so it can melt. Not enough snow to bother shoveling the whole thing.

37 for a high, 15 for the low and it is currently 37. This is the "warm sunny south"? Well it is sunny today. Wind gusts 20-30 mph.

here, it was in the upper 20's and 45

Woke up to 17* but should warm up to 48* and sunny. The greenhouse will get up to the upper 90's, low 100's and I have to open the door to vent it. Nice to work in there tho!!

-6C (21F) and -16C windchill (3F), sunny, crisp, and clear.

In Labrador in the northern part of the province it is
-37C with -52C windchill! Glad I'm here and not there.

Currently it's 19
High may be 31...but I'm starting to doubt it..brrrr!

This cold won't last..will be near 60 for the next few days and still no sign of any moisture. :(
