We are building a 3800 sq. foot house in Eastern North Carolina. We are trying to make up our mind on using the Trane or Rheem HVAC system.

The following are the estimates:

Trane Air

FIRST FLOOR: INSTALL TRANE 15 SEER 3.5 TON HEAT PUMP SYSTEM TO 17 SUPPLY RUNS AND ONE RETURN

INSTALL TRANE AIR HANDLER WITH 10 KW STRIP HEAT

DIGITAL THERMOSTAT

SECOND FLOOR: INSTALL TRANE 15 SEER 2.5 TON HEAT PUMP SYSTEM TO 11 SUPPLY RUNS AND 2 RETURNS

TRANE AIR HANDLER WITH 8 KW STRIP HEAT

INSTALL DIGITAL THERMOSTAT

INCLUDES- BATH VENTING, DRYER VENTING AND STANDARD 6 INCH RANGE VENTING

Includes 2 zone damper system for second floor and bonus room

Includes 3 humidity control programmable thermostats

Includes secondary float switches to prevent condensate overflow

Or Rheem:

Labor and materials to install 1-3.5ton downstairs & 1-2ton upstairs using Rheem 410a 15seer complete heat pump systems. Job includes 1yr service contract, all metal R-8 insulated ductwork sealed with mastic, programmable digital t-stat w/ humidity control, drain pan w/ safety switch(upstairs), safety switch on drain line(downstairs), all grills/vents, zinc balls, venting bath fans/drier/range, 2-4" concrete pads, taxes, and permit.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
