Hi Taunia, I can relate with your heartbreak after being there myself. I found comfort and the ability to express my emotions by creating miniatures of all the past events and family history that were noteworthy or memorable. The process found me journaling my thoughts as a short explanation for the various symbolic "treasures." The accumulation eventually found their way to a miniature Christmas tree of "the family" and an ongoing wreath that displays the symbols of current events and feelings. It was very therapeutic and brought me a great deal of serenity when coping seemed an impossibility. I pray you too find a way to "feel the feelings" as a way of climbing life's mountains to reach peace.

Patti-I know how you are feeling.My grandaughter turned 18 yesterday.She was a good student,liked school,was a good basketball player and loved playing and was in the band.Then out of the blue last winter she quit school.Her mom and dad(my son)are divorced and mom,her older brother and DGD had been living with us.Dad was married again to a woman who has a DD a couple of years younger than DGD and had made it clear from the beginning that her DD was the queen of the house and DGD was just the peon so DGD wasn't living there.When we came up here to help youngest DS with the babies,Mom was in a relationship and they all moved out.That is when she decided she didn't want to go to school.She didn't like the guy mom was with either(he WAS a jerk)so that made it harder for her.Anyway,I feel like I let her down by not being there for her.If she had been able to come back and live with us I think we could have kept her in school and things would be different.But,the situation here can't be changed either so I am torn between the little babies that need us here and and the BIG ones at home.LOL Just be in your DG's life as much as possible and do the best you can.That's all anyone can do. Congratulations to your DGD.She will have a lot of wonderful memories from her Graduation Day!

All of my cyber friends at OHH gave me a charm bracelet and nearly 50 different charms. Each charm represented something that they knew about me. It is so pretty and I love it so much. I know most of the charms and who gave them to me by heart. My friends timed it so that I got it just before I went to the hospital to have my right lung removed..well most of it...It is a gift that I cherish.

What a doll! I don't have any softball players at my house - she looks great!~ Do you get to a lot of her games? Does she play volleyball too? I bet she would be fantastic. My DD is just 14 and cruising past 5'9"! Girls are getting taller!
