A body has been found only 20 miles from her home. I almost hope it's her for closure's sake.

I guess we all hoped for a good outcome, but afterthis amount of time, the hopes fade and now we, or I hope they find her body for her family, a decent burial, and put that horrid man who was her husband where he belongs.

Watching this mornings news, they aren't sure if it is her body or not. The report said there are a few women missing in that area so they don't want to say. The body was badly decomposed. May take some time to identify. NancyLouise

I am a Ph.D. chemist and I completely understand the origin of the black deposit. The black material is soot or from a chemical standpoint it is carbon. When you use the fireplace you will see a cool yellow flame rather than a blue flame from hot combustion of LP or propane. The cool yellow flames means that carbon monoxide is a product of the partial combustion of your gas source. Most of the time this carbon monoxide goes up the chimney. If the flames were blue in color that would mean that the flames were not only hot but a main product of combustion would be carbon dioxide. Getting back the carbon monoxide product with yellow burning gas, carbon monoxide will disproportionate to carbon (soot) and carbon dioxide. The chemical reaction is 2CO = C + CO2. This reaction is speeded up at lower temperatures particularly in contact with metals such as iron. The lower temperature explains why the carbon deposits occur on the logs in the front because they are lower in temperature. The disproportionation of carbon monoxide (CO) not only depends on temperature but on material. Certain glassy materials will completely inhibit the decomposition of carbon monoxide. One such material is quartz. Namely because of their chemical makeup, certain fireplace logs can inhibit suit formation and others will accelerate suit deposits. I am in need of a log material/manufacturer which will minimize carbon monoxide disproportionation and suit formation. Please contact me (by e-mail) for help and more information.

Drew Peterson Arrested

Don't get too excited. It's not over until it's over. The bail may be lowered. The case will probably hinge on a new law in Illinois that permits use of 'from the grave' testimony -- deceased told others she feared for her life or that the accused told her he'd committed a crime. Then, since this will be the first test of the new law, there's immediate cause for appeal. I hope they can keep him locked up until the trial and during any appeals. We are all sick of his smirking face and antics designed to prejudice as many potential jury members as he can.

Stacey Peterson Found?

This post if from a few days ago, and I haven't checked on updates since I heard it on the news then, but I believe I heard that the blue barrel they found is not related to Stacy P. Haven't heard about the remains though. Even if it isn't Stacy - it there a gene that makes people so sick, to first, kill another human being, and then, but the body in a barrel and through it in the water. I know this is done all lot more than anyone of us wants to know, but what's the point? Forgive, forget, and then move on, for gosh sake.

The reports I saw last evening said they thought it WASN'T Stacy P (they didn't even know if it was a woman or a man, at the time). Guess only time and a lot of forensic work will tell.

Shame--hard for the family. The poor kids have been apparently told their mother's on a skiing trip. ?????

There was a blue container found with the body. Remember, a friend saw Peterson moving a blue container when Stacy went missing.

I hope if the miracle of finding her alive isn't going to happen, that this is her. I cannot imagine the horrible pain this has been for her family/friends, the not knowing.

I kept checking the news channels every chance I could get yesterday (saturday) and could find nothing on this subject. Just about the damn election stuff. I know, I know that is important too, but I'm already tired of it. This morning I've checked too and ....so far nothing. Guess in time, we'll find out or maybe I'll wait untill Nancy Grace's show tomorrow.

The body is neither Lisa Stebic nor Stacy Peterson and the police say they don't know where people got the notion there was a blue container nearby.

I watched WGN news that night after I heard CNN do a story on it. Thought I would get more up to date info from a Chicago station. I figured it wasn't Stacy. He would do a better job hiding the body being a cop and all he would know all the tricks.
