Having a dark floor is like owning a black car. It's great looking if you just cleaned it and shined it up. Five minutes later, it's dusty and looks dirty again. Every scratch shows, every ding shows---twice, because it's mirrored in the surrounding surface finish. It's fine if you have a maid, or keep a dustmop in your hands constantly. For real life people outside of a magazine, it's maintainence intensive. And to create that look from a light maple, well, that's just asking for trouble. Maple gets very blotchy when you try to stain it anything other than lightly. Analine dyes and gel stains can work, but you really have to have a true expert. They're expensive. Resanding and refinishing what you have with a light to medium stain would be best as far as wear and economics go. It's always easier and more classic to keep a wood very close to it's natural color, and that really is a timeless look. If your wife just must have the latest and greatest fad and fashion of dark floors, then ripping it all out and starting over will be your best bet.

oh well shoot. I would have used a reducer that matches that tile. When the door is closed, which floor do you see? the wood ? or the tile? to give you an idea, I had marble in the bathroom that transitions to wood See how it slopes? you should have had something like that made w/your tile, or get something that matches it. when the door closes, the transition piece is hidden w/the bathroom. or, from the inside, if you do the wood, you shouldn't see it. from the outside if door closed, you should only see the wood piece. just depends where the door closes on your transition threshold cut back your gray tile and put in the transition. when the door closes, it should completely conceal it here's another one. blurry though how to break yours off? very carefully chisel.

Sorry the added value with wood is IMO not as big a deal anymore most people like the ease of care with LVP I have 3 huge dogs wood floors would have been destoyed long ago and sure would not have added value to my house .I do agree the same flooring is the best choice so all wood look .

Most peel and stick tiles didn't have asbestos. Even if they do, they're often poorly adhered and come up in full pieces. If the tiles are brittle they're more likely to be the type with asbestos. As a floor professional I'd never put anything over a Pergo floor, not even carpet (which I don't do anyway). It's easy to remove. Take it all up.
