Only thing I can get here is hot cocoa by the fire...but would love a snowball fight and really want to do a sleigh ride....Stacy

I worked in a warehouse that for many years had no heat or air and the doors we loaded trucks in are on the north side of the building. There were strong wind drafts at those doors and it was so cold. The last dozen years we had spot heaters, so we had heat for a few seconds at a time, then back to the cold. Now that I'm retired my favorite part of winter is that I don't have to work in the cold for 8 to 16 hours at a time. It doesn't even bother me to take the trash out now or to go to the mailbox because I know I'm only going to be there for a minute or so, then I can go right back to the warmth of my home.

Always wanted to take a sleigh ride, but I think that would be #1 once I had the chance.

I can only think of 2 things I liked about winter...a crackling fire in the fireplace and a moonlit,beautiful, sparkling snowfall on Christmas Eve-when I liked to take my kids for a late night walk-the flakes sparkled like diamonds & there was a calm, serene feeling that would be present. Other than that? Hate chocolate, cold weather & winter, in general!

I'm an elementary school Principal's Secretary, so it would have to be snow days when our school district is either closed (like today) or we have a 2-hour delay ;o)

And I will sit by the crackling fire with a cup of hot cocoa today....no sleigh here to ride, though it would be lovely.

I like the way it covers the old grey of fall in a coverlet of white. (It's just a bit too much now, but it is lovely)

The smell! I love the way it smells when it has snowed.

Oh...and I love that it's not hot!

I like standing next to the fireplace with a hot cup of coffee and knowing I don't have to get up and go to work in the cold.

When it ends! I hate cold weather, wearing heavy, bulky clothing, shoveling snow and hazardous driving conditions.

I love our wood stove. We just turned the loveseat around so that it's facing the stove, yesterday I ate lunch on it and then laid down to read my book, I got all comfy and dozy and it was great. I need a heat source to stay warm in the winter and the wood stove is perfect. It warms nearly the entire house, just the master bath stays kind of cold but we have a built in wall heater in there so it's OK at shower time.

I don't like to be cold. If I'm outside when it's cold, I have to be doing something that will warm me up, like hauling firewood, either loading it into the truck or helping split it and stacking it.

The gardening catalogs.

About the only redeeming quality I can find about winter is that you don't have to mow.

Every year I like winter less and less. Cold, commuting, shoveling to get out on time, messy, dark and dreary, etc. Don't mean to be a grouch, but I am planning on moving to a more temperate climate when I retire.

Nothing except coming home to my nice warm house. How many days till Spring?

If I have to pick something, I'd say a crackling fire....otherwise I'd say absolutely nothing. That's why I live in California.

Blankets and the Fireplace.

As a dedicated, card-carrying winter disliker, I feel it is best experienced sitting by a cozy fire, reading a good book, and drinking a great red wine! I really think that I was born on the wrong island - instead of Newfoundland, I should have been born on the Big Island of Hawaii! The stork must have been blown waaaaaay off-course.

I don't like winter so I guess I would prefer to be indoors sitting by the fire sipping hot chocolate.

The only thing I like about winter is wearing socks. I love socks but wear them only in winter. Otherwise, bring on summer now!!
