How can I be this old and still have so much to learn?

One would think by the time they reach my age (and let me make this clear, just forget about finding out what age that may be because that's not happening - hehe), they would know pretty much all they need to know about cooking and baking. However, "one" would be wrong and I'm the perfect example.

Granted, my cooking experience had a delayed start because I did absolutely no cooking, whatsoever, until I was married. The first day back from our honeymoon I had to call my mother to ask her how to cook hotdogs. I know - that's really pathetic. Baking is my passion so among my family and friends I've made a name for myself, but there's still plenty of room for growth. With cooking, I've learned a lot through the years, and my knowledge has grown exponentially since last year when we remodeled the kitchen and I was "inspired" to branch out and try new things. (The "inspiration" probably stemmed from knowing the price tag on the remodel.)

Having said that, I'd like to APPLAUD the contributors of this forum and those that post those MOUTH-WATERING pictures of prepared dishes on the "what's for dinner" threads. May I say, I am in awe of the knowledge and skills many of you possess in regards to cooking, baking, and presentation of food. I've learned so much by reading your threads and drooling, no, really, I'm not kidding when I say drooling, over those food photos. (DARN - While I'm writing this I'm baking cookies and would you believe I forgot to set the timer? I bet seasoned cooks and bakers don't make that mistake! Fortunately, they're salvageable but not to my standards.)

So, THANK YOU to those that have answered my questions and to others that regularly post on this forum. I want you to know I appreciate the time you take to share your recipes and cooking/baking advice with me. I'm sure there are others that don't post often, like me, but are equally grateful.

Let the party continue in the kitchen!!!! :)
